This position will report directly to the VP for Institutional Advancement and Global Engagement.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Grant and Content Writer will be responsible for the development of proposals to be submitted to foundations, corporations, private individuals and government. The Grant and Content Writer will also develop content for promotion and communication, in collaboration with Marketing and Communications, to advance the objectives of the Office. In working with a cross-section of constituents the Grant and Content Writer will gather information, develop working papers, and final proposals for presentation and dissemination. Further, the Grant and Content Writer will develop any stewardship strategies or requirements for grants awarded to the University working in collaboration with a grants administrator/office or the like.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Plan, implement, write and manage proposals submitted on behalf of the University originating through the Office for Institutional Advancement and Global Engagement.
Research funding sources such as foundations, corporations, and government agencies to determine feasibility of funding to match with university needs and priorities.
Maintain select number of records on Office database records to develop timing strategies and maintain relevant information for cultivation and stewardship purposes.
Record relevant data into the database system in a timely and accurate manner and ensure assigned accounts on the database system are accurate.
Assist faculty as needed for the development faculty proposals when appropriate.
Undertake research into a diverse range of issues, sourcing relevant data both internal and external to the University. Collaborate, analyze, and present data for consideration.
Establish benchmarks for grant proposal submission, revenue, success rates.
