The company was founded on May 29, 1933 and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.</p> <p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Engineer with a strong background in chemicals to join the East Hub Division of the LTC Business & Project Development Department. In this role, the Senior Operations Engineer will be responsible for optimizing the integration of existing refinery and chemicals sites. Additionally, they will be involved in evaluating and selecting licensors for various projects, including the refinery upgrader complex, pure gas Ethane Cracker, Mixed Feed Steam Cracker, C4+ co-products, and pygas based Aromatics Complex. Safety and environmental compliance will be a top priority throughout these processes.</p> <p>As a key member of the Project Development & Technology team, the Senior Operations Engineer will report to the Manager and collaborate closely with other refinery and chemical engineers. The candidate’s primary focus will be to ensure the smooth implementation of work according to the project scope and established plans, while also efficiently handling any contingencies that may arise during project execution.</p> <p>This position offers an exciting opportunity for the candidate to contribute their expertise and knowledge to drive the optimization and success of various refinery and chemical projects, all while adhering to the highest safety and environmental standards.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Evaluate and screen a range of technology options to be used for defining the Baseline Configuration.</li> <li>Align the level of detail needed and sources for technology input for LP evaluation, opex, and major considerations for facilities scope.</li> <li>Review the details and inputs for technology options and outputs from the LP model, including process yields & qualities, opex, etc.</li> <li>Define the Process technology roadmap and the timeline to engage with technology licensors/providers.</li> <li>Outline Pre-FEED/FEED plans and deliverables related to facility design basis.</li> <li>Lead the evaluation of the technology options and the screening process.</li> <li>Provide technical inputs on the selected technologies and sensitivity cases.</li> <li>Identify 3rd party opportunities.</li> <li>Liaise with 3rd party vendors/suppliers to obtain the information.</li> <li>Work with licensors to develop and analyze commissioning, pre-start-up, and start-up activities and sequencing for the refinery and chemicals complex to support proper planning and flawless operation.</li> <li>Participate in all required hazard studies and analyses such as HAZOP, etc.</li> <li>Support Government Engagement workstream & GHG Abatement Readiness workstream in terms of technical document development, technology assessment, capital efficiency, etc.</li><br></ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.</strong></li> <li>Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program as a minimum.</li> <li>15+ years of experience with a focus on the Refining & Chemicals business and their integration.</li> <li>Previous experience in Project Engineering, Design, and Execution for refinery and chemicals plants.</li> <li>Refinery-Chemicals integration management experience.</li> <li>Refinery operation experience and familiarity with residue upgraders.</li> <li>Ethane, Mixed Feed Steam Cracker, derivatives, and aromatics process licensor selection & technology analysis experience.</li> <li>Understanding of chemical process yields & qualities.</li> <li>Thorough understanding of economics & capital efficiency.</li> <li>Chemicals facility scope basis development experience.</li> <li>Refinery or chemicals capital project development experience, especially Pre-FEED/FEED development experience.</li> <li>Understanding of molecule optimization and synergy integration.</li></ul>
