We aspire to remove frictions that prohibit people from being globally mobile, beginning with accommodation experiences.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What is the role?</strong></p><p>The General Manager – MENA is a high-impact role. You will be the “captain of the ship” for the MENA region. You’ll be part of the founding team, lead our operations and execution of the business plan. The General Manager will require proper experience in building and scaling consumer technology ventures, and strong people leadership skills.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>You will be critical to leading, shaping and driving the business forward, leading the structuring and scaling of the team, providing guidance and leadership to drive a consistent increase in revenue and new business. You will own the P&amp;L of the MENA region and manage all business activities, including: hiring your team, supply acquisition, sales, operations, and customer experience. You will build strong relationships with the relevant stakeholders across industry and government. You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Silkhaus.</p><p><br></p><p>The General Manager must have a business owner’s mindset, continuously seeking out new initiatives that will increase sales, manage costs, build teams, and further develop the Silkhaus’ overall strategic direction. Driving rapid growth across the markets in which we operate, all of which possess huge reserves of untapped potential, you will identify and prioritize areas of expansion, leading on strategic partnerships and digital initiatives.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What do you bring to the table?</strong></p><ul><li><strong>You are a leader and an entrepreneur</strong><span>&nbsp;that people willingly follow: Whether it’s creating the ideal work environment for your team to thrive, hacking how to lead remotely, or getting into the weeds yourself – you’re at the forefront of setting leadership principles that can be rolled out company-wide and work at scale.</span></li><li><strong>You are a builder and operator</strong><span>&nbsp;with 8-10 years of experience in scaling fast-growing consumer/technology ventures. You will be responsible for the creation and execution of Silkhaus’ business plan across MENA, and will own all aspects of the regional P&amp;L. Top MBA holders and former management consultants (Bain/BCG/McKinsey) will have an edge in the process.</span></li><li><strong>You have operating experience in the MENA region</strong><span>&nbsp;and are attuned to the realities of conducting business in the region. Prior experiences in proptech/real estate are preferred.</span></li><li><strong>You have seen 0-1 environments before.</strong><span>&nbsp;Given that Silkhaus is at the pre-Series A stage, the ability to adapt rapidly and to thrive in early stage environments will be critical success factors. Things change fast at this stage – Silkhaus moves at 300 mph. If your time in top tier tech companies and early stage startups taught you to scale a learning curve quickly, be ready to apply that here.</span></li><li><strong>Stakeholder management</strong><span>: By this we mean not only transparency and directness, but also a high degree of savoir faire.
