<strong><u>Position Description<br><br></u></strong><strong>EnCompass LLC</strong> seeks a <strong>Gender, Economic Participation and Reporting Specialist </strong>for the five-year United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Women’s Economic Empowerment and Leadership Activity <strong>(USAID Makanati) in Jordan</strong>. USAID Makanati aims to increase women’s access to waged employment and leadership opportunities in Jordan by improving women’s access to the job market, addressing inequalities and prohibitive social norms and traditions, and enhancing the workforce-enabling environment.<br><br>The Gender, Economic Participation, and Reporting Specialist will work closely with the Senior Gender and Youth Specialist to develop and <strong>implement gender-sensitive strategies</strong> and activities within Makanati’s components. The specialist will focus on<strong> reducing the gender gap in the workplace</strong>, improving skill matching, and <strong>creating an enabling environment for women’s economic empowerment</strong>. Furthermore, the Specialist will assume the responsibility of preparing and creating the bi-weekly updates, summaries, briefs, and technical reports for the Community and Gender team. These documents will be circulated internally or shared with relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the Specialist will serve as the central point of contact between the Gender Team and the Community Team, as well as facilitate communication and coordination between the Gender and Community team and other Makanati’s components within the Activity.<br><br><strong>This position will be full-time and based in Amman. <br><br></strong><strong><u>Essential Functions<br><br></u></strong><strong>Position Duties and Responsibilities <br></strong><ul><li>Contribute to implementing Makanati’s gender equality and social norms strategy, including logistical preparations and the execution of gender and youth-focused activities across Makanati’s three main components: private sector, community, and policy and government. </li><li>Facilitate gender and youth-related activities, including training workshops, meetings, seminars, and events targeting different age groups, decision-makers, gender champions, and stakeholders, including private sector firms, community members, leaders, and government officials. </li><li>Led the development of USAID’s bi-weekly updates, quarterly reports, and other ad hoc reports as requested by the Senior Gender and Community Lead or Chief of Party (COP), including capturing success stories for the Communications component and supporting M&E data collection and reporting. </li><li>Collect, analyze, and consolidate data and information from various sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability. </li><li>In coordination with the MEL and CLA component, assist in periodic and ongoing tracking of community perceptions and attitudes toward proposed policies and initiatives that support women’s waged employment and economic participation. </li><li>Work with the Community Specialists to conduct community mapping and perform power analyses of key stakeholders to Identify community, government, and private sector champions. </li><li>Collaborate with the project team including the MEL and communications teams, to document success stories, case studies, and best practices to showcase the project’s impact. </li><li>Collaborate with the Government and Private Sector Components under the Sectors Deep Dive Cluster to ensure alignment and synergy of activities and interventions. <br></li></ul><strong><u>Qualifications<br><br></u></strong><strong>Position Requirements <br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., gender studies, development studies, economics, sociology). </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience working on gender and economic empowerment initiatives, preferably within the Jordanian context. </li><li>Demonstrated expertise/experience in conducting research, analyzing findings, and recommending alternatives and solutions, including methodologies and methods that mainstream gender in designing and delivering technical interventions. </li><li>Demonstrated technical expertise working with civil society, government, private sector, or research and policy institutions on women’s economic empowerment issues. <br></li></ul><strong><u>Experience And Skills<br></u></strong><ul><li>Technical experience in gender equality, social inclusion, and women’s economic empowerment. </li><li>An understanding of the working conditions for women and prevalent socio-cultural norms, gender constraints, and gender-based violence in workplaces and societies. </li><li>Familiarity with USAID gender equality-related policies and gender integration preferred. </li><li>The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands and seek supervisory assistance as appropriate. </li><li>Strong written and communication skills, including fluency in Arabic and English. </li><li>A team player with the ability to work both independently and with others. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with people at all levels, internally and externally. </li><li>The candidate must be authorized to work in Jordan. <br></li></ul>How to Apply<br><br>Please submit CV and cover letter and complete the application on the Careers & Consulting page<br><br>EnCompass LLC is a progressive Equal Opportunity Employer.
