Our client is a Garments Factory Company seeking a qualified Production Manager who knows the buisness in-depth and has experience with all technical matters with regards to the quipments as well as the commercial side of business to prepare production plans accordingly. 

Job Summary:

The Garments Factory Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the production process in a garments manufacturing facility. They are accountable for ensuring efficient, high-quality, and timely production of garments while adhering to safety and quality standards. The Production Manager plays a crucial role in managing resources, optimizing productivity, and maintaining a smooth workflow within the factory.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning:

   – Develop production schedules and plans based on customer orders and sales forecasts.

   – Allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to meet production targets.

2. Quality Control:

   – Implement and maintain strict quality control procedures to ensure the production of high-quality garments that meet customer specifications and standards.

   – Regularly inspect the production process and conduct quality checks on finished products.

3. Process Improvement:

   – Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the production line.

   – Introduce and implement lean manufacturing techniques to optimize production operations.

4. Manpower Management:

   – Recruit, train, and supervise production staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

   – Set performance targets and provide guidance to team members for achieving their goals.

5. Equipment Maintenance:

   – Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure that production equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.

   – Schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and equipment failures.

6. Health and Safety Compliance:

   – Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure that all employees follow safety guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.

   – Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential safety hazards promptly.

7. Inventory Management:

   – Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.

   – Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure a steady supply of materials.

8. Reporting and Documentation:

   – Maintain accurate production records, including production output, quality reports, and workforce performance.

   – Generate production reports and present them to senior management.

9. Communication:

   – Foster effective communication between different departments within the factory, such as design, sourcing, and logistics, to streamline the production process.

10. Compliance:

    – Ensure the factory operates in compliance with all relevant labor laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

– Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in a garments manufacturing environment.

– In-depth knowledge of garment production processes, quality control, and production planning.

– Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

– Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

– Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

– Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

– Good communication and interpersonal skills.

– Proficiency in using production management software and MS Office tools.

Additional Knowledge and Experience with Garments Production Factory Equipment:
1. Sewing Machines: A thorough understanding of different types of sewing machines used in the garment industry is essential. This includes single-needle, double-needle, overlock, coverstitch, and specialized machines for specific sewing operations. The Production Manager should be familiar with machine capabilities, maintenance requirements, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure smooth operations.

2. Cutting Machines: Knowledge of various cutting machines, such as straight knife cutters, band knife cutters, and die cutting machines, is important for efficient fabric cutting. Understanding blade sharpness, proper cutting techniques, and maintenance procedures can improve the accuracy and speed of the cutting process.

3. Heat Press Machines: Heat press machines are used for applying graphics, logos, and embellishments to garments. Being knowledgeable about different types of heat press machines and their temperature, pressure, and time settings can help maintain consistent quality during the garment decoration process.

4. Fusing Machines: Fusing machines are used for attaching interlinings and fusible materials to fabric panels. The Production Manager should be aware of different fusing techniques and machine adjustments to ensure proper adhesion without damaging the fabric.

5. Embroidery Machines: If the factory performs embroidery work, the Production Manager should have knowledge of embroidery machines, their digitization process, thread types, and proper hooping techniques to produce intricate and high-quality embroidery designs.

6. Washing and Finishing Equipment: Understanding industrial washing machines, dryers, and finishing equipment is crucial for post-production processes. This includes knowledge of various washing techniques, garment dyeing, and finishing methods to achieve desired garment appearances and textures.

7. Pattern Making and Grading Software: Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software used for pattern making and grading can streamline the design-to-production process and ensure accurate sizing and fit of garments.

8. Fabric Inspection Machines: Fabric inspection machines help identify defects and imperfections in fabrics before cutting. The Production Manager should be aware of fabric inspection techniques and how to interpret inspection results to minimize wastage during production.

9. ERP/MRP Systems: Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems used for production planning, inventory management, and resource allocation can help optimize the production process and track key performance indicators.

10. Automation and Industry 4.0: Knowledge of automation technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and smart factory concepts can drive process efficiency and modernize the garments production factory, leading to increased productivity and reduced operational costs.
