Job Description

A power specialist can help establish standardized testing methods, assess design requirements, and provide staff training
for AC and DC power systems. They can negotiate and determine design requirements based on factors such as load
requirements, power quality standards, redundancy measures, and safety considerations. Additionally, develop and deliver
training programs covering essential topics such as electrical safety practices, understanding power distribution principles,
troubleshooting power-related issues, proper grounding techniques, and emergency response protocols.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control. participate in quality meetings, provide feedback on process enhancements, suggest improvements to quality control procedures, and collaborate with other teams to enhance overall quality management practices.
  • Responsible for designing and optimizing power systems based on the needs of the organization. This includes determining load requirements, evaluating equipment options, designing electrical distribution layouts, and considering factors such as voltage drop, fault tolerance, and capacity planning
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing the root causes. develop solutions to rectify power system problems,coordinate repairs or replacements, and implement preventive maintenance strategies to minimize future disruptions.
  • Stay updated with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards pertaining to power systems.
  • Analyze and assess the quality of power within a system. identify power quality issues such as voltage fluctuations, harmonics, or power factor problems and implement measures to mitigate or eliminate them. This may involve conducting power quality audits, performing measurements and analysis, and recommending corrective actions
  • Develop Service Level Agreement for network services.
  • Assist technical teams in troubleshooting and resolving complex problems utilizing engineering methodologies and system thinking in problem-solving.
  • Provide training and education to other team members or stakeholders on quality control practices and standards.
  • Share their expertise, provide guidance on quality-related matters, and promote a culture of quality consciousness within the organization.
  • Develop and execute standardized testing methods and procedures for power systems and equipment. conduct tests to ensure compliance with industry standards, verify performance, and identify potential issues. also oversee the commissioning process to ensure proper installation and integration of power equipment
  • Responsible for implementing quality assurance processes and procedures. develop and enforce quality control standards, ensuring that power systems and equipment meet industry regulations, codes, and internal quality guidelines.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes throughout the lifecycle of power systems. This includes reviewing design specifications, verifying compliance with quality requirements during construction or installation, and conducting final inspections before system commissioning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of power systems. identify areas for improvement, propose energy-saving measures, optimize system configurations, and recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectivenes.
  • Ensure that power systems and equipment comply with applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. stay updated with the latest standards and guidelines, implement necessary changes to align with new requirements, and ensure ongoing compliance with quality control measures
  • Responsible for improving the productivity of the section ensuring technical teams are distributed among the regions and network locations efficiently to ensure optimum utilization
  • Identify any defects, malfunctions, or non-compliance with quality standards.
  • Root Cause Analysis: When quality issues or failures occur, power specialist in quality control conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons. They investigate the causes of quality deviations, equipment failures, or performance issues and identify corrective and preventive actions to address them.
  • Responsible for planning and achieving the goals of the section to ensure the section is effective and efficient in achieving company goals.
  • Require the team to submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to manage the workload and improve work approaches.
