- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial
- buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer’s instructions to determine layout
- of system
- Install pipes and fittings, using hand and power tools
- Install control valves, alarm valves, back-flow preventives, and pressure regulators
- Test completed systems for proper functioning, using air and water pressure gages
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipefitting
- Hang ceiling-mounted sprinkler heads
- Repair and replace damaged sprinkler heads, valves, and fittings
- Keep records of maintenance and repairs, and order parts and supplies as needed
- Respond to alarms and perform emergency repairs as necessary
- Reporting about material requirement.
- Train new employees on the proper use and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of fire sprinkler training program
- +2years’ experience as a fire sprinkler technician
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
- Excellent customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license.
- Associate’s degree in fire science or related field
- +4years’ experience as a fire sprinkler technician
- Certification from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
- Bilingual abilities
