<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p>About the Company<p><br></p>Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.<p><br></p>Purpose of the Job<p><br></p>An uniformed position responsible to manage all aspects of fire prevention (mobile and fixed) equipment integrity (specifications, witness, inspection, maintenance) for PDO assets.<p><br></p>As custodian of the PDO Pre Incident Plans (PIP), to ensure the development and verification of PIPs for all PDO assets take place in timely and efficient manner.<p><br></p>To support PDO engineering Projects with Operational Fire Safety advise, and participate in Fire Safety Assessments, site commissioning planning and fire system functionality testing, as Witness Authority.<p><br></p>Education & Experience<p><br></p><ul><li> University/College BSc Degree (Fire Protection, Chemical, Fire Protection, Technical Safety, Mechanical, or similar Engineering field) or equivalent.</li><li> 10 yrs Technical Safety and/or Fire safety experience, with at least 5 yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant, and at least 3 yrs as team lead</li><li> Recognised as Fire Safety Expert in the development and implementation of Pre Incident Plans, and skilled in the application of NFPA/ BS/Shell standards and guidelines.</li><li> Detailed knowledge of national and international fire prevention & fire equipment standards</li></ul><p><br></p>Main Responsibilities<p><br></p><ul><li> Reduce the knowledge gap between Fire Engineering and Operational Fire Safety, and to create more understanding of Design expectations vs Operational Requirements (fire safety equipment supposed to deliver by design, and what is actually expected in real fire situation).</li><li> Manage the the Loss prevention team (develop, train and supervise) as part of the UIPT5 team</li><li> Ensure the development and verification of PIPs for all PDO assets. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate PIPs are available at all assets.</li><li> Support Engineering Projects with Operational Fire Safety advise, and participate in Fire Safety Assessments, site commissioning planning and fire system functionality testing, as Witness Authority.</li><li> Manage the DCAF/PCAP Operational Fire Safety requirements, and ensure process and procedures are understood by the stakeholders</li><li> Verify compliance with fire safety equipment servicing and maintenance schedules including the update and management of the SAP system.</li><li> Lead and facilitate Operational Fire Safety equipment inspections, reviews and audits for all PDO assets according to PDO specifications and International standards (NFPA)</li><li> Participate in fire safety incident investigations, equipment malfunction reviews and defect reporting.</li><li> Assist in development of training portfolios, and assist with fire safety education, mentoring and coaching.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Skills Required</u></strong><p><br></p>Other Job Details
