Job Description

To lead the fire team and to carry out the emergency preparedness of Emergency Response procedures and equipment of power / desalination plant to assure readiness when needed.  

Technical

  • Ensure 100% safety and occupational health of the people in power or desalination plant as well as the safety of operations, company assets, and the environment through proper planning, inspection, monitoring, follow-up and resolution of all HSE-related matters and issues, in particular Fire Safety and Training.
  • Achieve 100% emergency preparedness.
  • Ensure that all equipment is functioning and ready for use at any given time.
  • Complete maintenance activities on the firefighting equipment according to monthly/yearly plan.
  • Maintain record of all firefighting equipment inspection and testing record.
  • Ensure monthly fire inspections are conducted at various locations in the plant as planned and communicate findings with line managers concerned.
  • Maintain a complete record of all emergency response equipment.
  • Ensure that all hazardous materials are correctly stored.
  • Perform any related task as assigned by the Site HSSE department.

Contribute in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organisation’s standards.

  • Knowledge of: Pre-Incident planning.
  • Fire risk assessment and mitigation plan.
  • modern firefighting – principles, practices, methods, and equipment
  • Fire hazards and fire prevention techniques
  • use of fire records and application to fire prevention and fire protection administration
  • local rules and regulations pertaining to fire prevention management.
