Phoenicia InterContinental Hotel in Beirut is looking to hire an Executive Chef.
Overlooking the Mediterranean, the Phoenicia InterContinental hotel with 446 rooms and suites and 33 apartments, along with 4 F&B outlets, and one of the largest banquet facilities in Lebanon.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be responsible to the below:
Culinary Leadership:
• Ensure the highest quality of food preparation, presentation, and taste by maintaining rigorous culinary standards.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the culinary team, promoting a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Menu Development and Implementation:
• Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director and other stakeholders to develop special event menus and cater to guest preferences and dietary requirements.
• Ensure menu consistency across all outlets and maintain cost-effective pricing while maximizing profitability.
Kitchen Operations and Management:
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper equipment maintenance, sanitation practices, and adherence to food safety standards.
Team Development and Training:
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a skilled and motivated culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Conduct regular training sessions on culinary techniques, safety protocols, and menu updates to ensure consistency and skill development.
Vendor Relationships and Cost Management:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and sourcing high-quality ingredients while managing costs.
• Collaborate with the purchasing department to maintain accurate inventory records, track usage, and minimize waste.

What We need from you:

8 to 10 years’ of experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume hotel or upscale restaurant. Use the Microsoft Office, Opera, FBM & Micros Tools Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution. Exceptional leadership, managerial, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
