Job Description

The American University in the Emirates is searching for an Event Coordinator with entry-level experience in the hospitality and event industry who plans and coordinates events. They select venues, adhere to the given budget, arrange onsite vendors and ensure client satisfaction for the scheduled event. Other job titles that are related are event planner and event specialist.

Financial Package

  • Monthly total salary: 6,000 AED
  • 30 days paid annual leave

Job Description

  • Understand the requirements for each event in the University
  • Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Book venues and coordinate event stakeholders
  • Research vendors (catering, decorators, fitting, etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
  • Work with other departments for promotion and marketing of the event
  • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations, etc.)
  • Do final checks for the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards
  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
  • Evaluate the event’s success and submit reports
