Job Description

1.   Implements environmental strategies, policies, practices and action plans to ensure corporate sustainable development.

2.   co-ordinates all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

3.   Maintain EMS in compliance with ESIA, ESMMP, ESAP, State and Organizational requirements.

4.   Develop and execute environmental management plans.

5.   Set goals for Environmental officer/team.

6.   assessing, analyzing and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, client and regulatory bodies.

7.   Ensure that materials are ethically or environmentally sourced.

8.   managing environmental strategy budgets.

9.   liaising with internal staff including senior managers and directors.

10. promotes, raises awareness and trains staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities.

11. audits, analyses and reports environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.

12. Prepare Environmental Accident/Incident reports.

keeping up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation

Social responsibilities

1.   Lead the continuous refinement and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS)

2.   Ensure cooperation with investment teams, coordinate E&S due diligences and monitoring of investees.

3.   Oversee E&S data collection and analysis for performance reporting

4.   Lead exchange on impact and sustainability matters with internal and external stakeholders.

5.   Develop and execute Social Plans (worker accommodation management Plan, Labor & working condition management Plan, Contractor selection and recruitment plan, community development plan, CSR Plan, Community Grievance Plan, Stakeholder Engagement Plan, Gender Impact Assessment and Management Plan in the workplace according to legal guidelines and as per company requirements.

6.   Implements social strategies, policies, practices and action plans to ensure IFC Performance standards, local legislation and best international practice.

7.   Maintain the management system in compliance with ESIA, ESMMP, ESAP, State and Organizational requirements.

8.   Take participate in stakeholder consultations and review the Stakeholder Consultation Reports.

9.   Prepare and execute CSR Action Plan.

10. Arrange skill development Program; skill development trainings, women empowerment, gender equality for local community women.

11. Create awareness among the gender community for the importance of social, civic, and income generation interventions so that community is aware of the benefits of the opportunities.

Link the communities with the NGOs programs of providing social and civic interventions in the area.
