Job Description

Role:

To perform routine testing duties in accordance with standard procedures as outlined in the Test Specification and the companies Quality Manual.

Responsibilities

·     Reporting to Sr.chemist/Lab Supervisor

·      Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests.

 

·      Calibrate the equipment’s and perform necessary analysis.

 

·      Perform the stack, ambient, noise, IAQ, IHQ monitoring effectively.

 

·      Maintain records of calibration and work sheets needed.

 

·      Participate in internal audits and inter-laboratory audits.

·      Conduct field work professionally to satisfy the clients requirement..

·     Analysis of water, soil and other environmental related hazard with the help of classic techniques and sophisticated instruments like ICP-OES, GC-MS , IC etc.

 

·     Ensures that all tests are carried out as specified in the Job Orders.

 

·     Participates in all IQC tests.

 

·     Ensures proper records for the standard solutions and disposal of laboratory wastes.

 

·     Implements Laboratory QMS as per procedural requirements.

 

·     Participates in PTP programs.

 

·     Ensures proper housekeeping and manages the temperature and humidity control records.

 

·     Maintains worksheets and test calculation records.

 

 

·     Produces test data on standard format worksheets in a precise and timely manner in accordance with standard procedure and sign the worksheet at the completion of any test performed.

 

·     Performs an independent check of test data worksheets completed by other technicians and sign the worksheet as checked.

 

·     Performs test data calculations, plot results and prepare test reports to be checked by a Sr.chemist/Lab Supervisor/Manager.

 

·     Ensures equipment is maintained in good working order and check that calibrations are keep up to date before each test.

 

·     Carries out routine maintenance and performance checks (when required) of any testing equipment you may use whilst conducting a test.

 

·     Provides on the job supervision and advice to Assistant Chemists as instructed by the Laboratory Manager.

 

·     Carries out sample collection, registration, storage, and disposal duties in accordance with standard laboratory quality procedures when required.

 

·     Performs general housekeeping duties in the laboratory.

 

·     Carries out other laboratory/testing/reporting duties as instructed by the Sr.chemist/Lab Supervisor

Qualifications:

Bachelors/Masters in Chemistry

Minimum 3 to 4 years of work experience in environmental testing lab
