Engineering Manager

Job Description

<p><span>Matic is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our tech team and oversee the development of our SaaS and marketplace products.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing people and ensuring that the team functions smoothly and efficiently, while also ensuring that the development of our dashboard and mobile apps are completed at the right pace without any compromise in code quality.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Manage and lead the engineering team to achieve high-quality, efficient and timely software development</span></li><li><span>Work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that meet business objectives and compliance standards</span></li><li><span>Manage software development processes, including design, development, testing, and deployment</span></li><li><span>Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices, guidelines, and security standards</span></li><li><span>Drive the development of new software products and enhancements to existing products</span></li><li><span>Participate in code reviews and guide developers on coding practices</span></li><li><span>Determine the need for training and talent development</span></li><li><span>Collaborate with product owners to define and prioritize requirements</span></li><li><span>Oversee the integration of 3rd party APIs and services</span></li><li><span>Ensure that KPIs for the dashboard and mobile apps are being achieved in a timely manner</span></li><li><span>Report on project status, progress, and risks to senior management</span></li><li><span>Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><span>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field</span></li><li><span>7+ years of relevant experience in software development, with at least 3 years of experience managing teams</span></li><li><span>Strong experience in PHP and PHP-based frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel, or Yii</span></li><li><span>Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and cloud-based services such as AWS or Azure</span></li><li><span>Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA or Trello</span></li><li><span>Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams</span></li><li><span>Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously</span></li><li><span>Experience with database design, RESTful APIs, and data-driven applications</span></li><li><span>Familiarity with frontend languages and frameworks like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, AngularJS, etc. is a plus</span></li><li><span>Experience with RabbitMQ, Redis, MongoDB, and other related technologies is a plus</span></li><li><span>Experience with mobile development is a plus</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><span>If you have a passion for software development and a proven track record of leading engineering teams, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to join the Matic team as our Engineering Manager.</span></p><p><br></p>
