Job Description
Engineering Manager -Trans country pipeline project (Conceptual experience required).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
– Manages the activities of the engineering team, ensures the development and implementation of Project engineering & design policies, plans and procedures.
– Manages the overall scope of the engineering- and design works of the Project and the performance of the detail engineering contractor with regard to the pipeline, the aboveground installations and the automation and control systems of the Project; and
– Oversees the performance of engineering works by the EPC and PMC contractor and interfaces with other Project departments on technical matters.
– Go to person for all engineering and design questions.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Managerial:
– Performs all administrative functions as required for the management of department activities.
– Manages the activities of all assigned personnel and provides relevant inputs to the Company personnel performance management and monitoring systems.
– Manages the overall scope of the engineering work and the performance of the assigned contractors.
– Oversees the performance of all assigned contractors.
– Interfaces and communicates with other Project departments on technical and engineering related matters.
– Participates in all relevant meetings and initiates the preparation of relevant inputs to the Company’s regular reporting and project control systems.
– Takes a proactive lead role for the performance of tasks as assigned by Company’s management; and
– Oversees the performance of all engineering works in relation to the implementation of all relevant plans, procedures, and policies and in particular the H&S, S&E, Security, Quality policies and commitments and mentoring of the Company.
Technical/Methodical:
– Keeps track of all technical issues and ensures they are resolved in a timely manner.
– Provides functional and technical guidance to all assigned personnel.
– Provides overall technical guidance with regard to the technical development of the Pipeline, above ground installations and the automation and control systems of the Project.
– Initiates the preparation of plans, procedures, specifications, scope of works and documents that guide the performance of engineering works by other contractors.
– Initiates technical reviews and approves all engineering related plans, procedures, specifications, and documents prepared by others, on behalf of the Company; and
– Provides all required technical inputs to the Companies change management system.
