Job Description
Cobblestone Energy is becoming the most advanced electricity trading company in the energy markets. We are looking for an Energy Meteorologist with programming experience who can help our team with mining data from existing data sources, build predictions utilising raw data and build tools that will form the bridge between our predictive algorithms and weather data. This is a great opportunity for a professional to work together with the commercial team and have a great impact on the company’s bottom line. You do not need to have experience in working in a trading firm but experience in working with raw weather data and an intermediate level of programming skills are required.

Responsibilities
- Use sophisticated computer systems to collate the flow of data from satellite images, radar, remote sensors and weather stations all over the world
- Analyse and present this information to relevant teams in the form of weather briefings
- Develop and improve numerical and computer models to predict atmospheric processes and improve the accuracy of forecasts
- Monitor climate variability and change
- Research seasonal forecasting, ocean forecasting and climate prediction
- Effectively communicate views and findings to traders, analysts, and relevant stakeholders.
- Being up to date about leading-edge developments, analytical techniques, technologies, and tools in advanced analytics

Requirements
- At least a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or other relevant area
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- A curious mind with proven ability in Math and Physics
- Analytical mind and the ability to evaluate complex material
- Ability to explain complex ideas to people who may not have technical knowledge
- Intermediate level of programming skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy with strong numerical, logical reasoning and analytical skills
