<strong>Overview</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** </li></ul><p><br></p>Emergency Vehicle Technician III (EVT III/EVM Lead) trained specifically to maintain and repair fire fighting equipment and emergency vehicles, including fire engines, tenders, tankers, rescue, flight line assets, foam systems, air compressor, dry chemical systems, hazmat response vehicles, and utility vehicles all known as fire fighting apparatus. Perform master mechanic level duties as required. Coordinates and performs highly skilled mechanics work. Maintains various types of emergency and fleet vehicles to include equipment.<p><br></p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.<p><br></p><ul><li> Diagnoses and repairs complex mechanical issues. </li><li> Performs preventative maintenance work. </li><li> Participates in ordering fleet parts. </li><li> Prepares various types of fleet maintenance records and documentation. </li><li> Assists in maintaining shop facilities and equipment. </li><li> Performs other mechanical related duties. </li><li> Provides customer support and quality assurance. </li><li> Maintains service logs and records of fire truck apparatuses. </li><li> Keeps tools equipment and work area clean organized and in good working condition. </li><li> Provides 24/7 on-call fleet maintenance support for assigned shift. </li><li> Maintains operational equipment assets. </li><li> Lead the work effort, train and mentor subordinate EVT personnel. </li><li> Performs Job Duties as assigned </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Qualifications</strong><ul><li> Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.</li><ul><li> High School Graduate </li><li> Emergency Vehicle Technician LV I thru II, Must meet the qualifications as defined in NFPA 1071 Standard for Emergency Vehicle Technician Professional </li><li> Qualifications for EVT I, II and III. </li><li> Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) T1 Tru T7 </li><li> EVT Exam F1 – F6 </li><li> Must be CAC eligible and/or the ability to obtain a CAC </li><li> Must be a U.S. Citizen </li><li> A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required. </li><li> Host nation Heavy Duty Driver’s License. </li></ul><li> Experience:</li><ul><li> Seven – Ten (7-10) years progressive professional experience on fire trucks, fire fighting apparatus or heavy transport vehicles, within a large city fire department, must have progressed to EVT LV III. </li></ul><li> Skills:</li><ul><li> Emergency vehicle technician LV III must have the technological and electrical skills to diagnose, repair and maintain the specialized equipment used on fire fighting apparatus. </li><li> Mastered state of the art techniques, practices, procedures, test equipment and documentation used in all facets of maintenance performed on automotive, truck, first responder vehicles, and all other forms of vehicular equipment. </li><li> Mastered various mechanical principles as applied to power transmission and braking systems, engine electrical systems and hydraulics. </li><li> Mastered NFPA 1901 standard for automotive fire apparatus and NFPA 1911 standard for the inspection, maintenance and testing of automotive fire apparatus. </li><li> Mastered fault determination through systematic troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems. </li><li> Must be able to set the standard for professional excellence among the EVT team. </li></ul><li> Working Conditions:</li><ul><li> Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. </li><li> Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). </li><li> Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. </li></ul><li> Physical Requirements:</li><ul><li> Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. </li><li> Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. </li><li> Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations.
