We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Qatar LLC 

Electrical Technician

Job Purpose:

This position is a unique opportunity to Manage the Trouble shooting, operation, maintenance numerical relay protection, transformer, vacuum breaker, MV and HV cable jointing and repair, MV motor maintenance and operation and maintenance of MV motor variable speed drivers.

Your main duties will be to: –

Broad plant maintenance experience on switchboards up to 6.6 kV, motors and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), thyristor rectifiers, power and distribution transformers, lighting systems, variable speed drivers and general plant electrical utilities are required. Experience that includes PLCs, HVAC, instrumentation and the use of computer based man-machine interfaces is preferred. Switching and operating experience on plant at 415V, 6.6 kV, 33kV and 220 kV is highly desirable. 

Profile

Minimum qualification is a diploma in engineering from a recognized institution with 5 years’ experience or a trade certificate with 10 years’ experience in an oil and gas or major utilities environment.

Power utility experience is highly recommended. Should be familiar with electrical safety requirements. 

Computer literacy essential, as is familiarity with MS Office.
