The company was founded on May 29, 1933 and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.</p> <p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>This Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer & Sensor Design Expert to join the Advanced Sensors Team (AST) within its Oil & Gas Network Integrity R&D Division (OGNI), which includes these functions: Advanced Sensors, Intelligent Systems, and Modelling & Prediction. The AST team focuses on rapid technology development aimed at providing solutions for integrity-related challenges, as well as decreasing the cost of corrosion and related activities including: inspection, monitoring, and maintenance. The Electrical Engineer & Sensor Design Specialist’s primary role is to contribute to the research and development portfolio, including: advanced and smart sensor solutions for integrity monitoring, reliability enhancement, and inspection technologies. This job holderrole will also be responsible for designing and developing sensing applications in order to meet project objectives related to prototyping, validation, and deployment of sensing technologies.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develops system-level sensor architecture designs with hardware and software interfaces for various applications.</li> <li>Conducts research and develops innovative smart sensing solutions specifically tailored for oil and gas business operations.</li> <li>Aligns with business stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of their goals and objectives.</li> <li>Files patents to protect intellectual property related to developed sensing technologies.</li> <li>Presents technical findings through published journal articles and at intra-company meetings, sharing knowledge and insights within the organization.</li><br></ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Holds a Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a preference for a PhD specialization in areas such as microsystems, nanofabrication, photonic devices, sensor design, nanocomposites, and electromagnetism.</li> <li>Has a minimum of five years of experience in technological and/or industrial sectors, with a significant focus on developing electronic-based solutions for sensing and monitoring applications.</li> <li>Skilled in micro and nanofabrication techniques and possesses excellent laboratory skills, particularly in nano and microfabrication, as well as electrical and material characterizations.</li> <li>Capable of designing and modeling electronic circuits, sensors, and systems.</li> <li>Experience in systems integration, including sensor devices, communication, localization, packaging, and circuit design (e.g., Altium).</li> <li>Alternatively, experience in nanofabrication (deposition, lithography, etc.), microsystems, nanocomposites, semiconductors, electromagnetism, MEMS (microelectromechanical systems), and imaging and characterization skills (SEM, TEM, XRD, etc.).</li> <li>Deep understanding of advanced optoelectronics for high-performing nanomaterials sensor design.</li> <li>Skilled in the design and fabrication of nanostructured membranes, flexible/thin-film optoelectronic systems, as well as analytical and material characterization techniques.</li> <li>Demonstrates active participation in technology development, technical seminars, and a strong publication record for PhD holders.</li> <li>Has a proven track record of initiating, guiding, and conducting advanced technical projects and developments, connecting technology, R&D, and operational excellence.</li> <li>Understanding of design algorithms used for sensor design.</li> <li>Preferred skills include a PhD with demonstrated industrial experience, experience in IR4.0 (Industrial Revolution 4.0) driven solutions and systems, knowledge of machine learning and data science technologies, and programming experience in C/C++ and Python.</li></ul>
