Electrical & Electronic Shift In-Charge – Steel Melting Plant

Job Description

Responsible for the maintenance of electrical, electronic and automation equipment in the plant. Ensures optimum equipment operational reliability and personnel safety at minimum expenditure thru efficient use of materials, equipment, tools and human resources. Supports mill operation in attaining annual production target and quality of products<br><br>Ensure compliance to Integrated Management System standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) requirements.<br><br>To work as per maintenance manuals and update these manuals in the light of operational experience and condition of plant equipment.<br><br>Responsible for the proper execution of all electrical, electronic and automation maintenance works.<br><br>Strict implementation and monitoring of preventive, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities.<br><br>Coordinates with Electrical <em>&amp; Automation</em> Planner regarding work accomplishments, inspection findings and feedback all needed information surrounding operations delay.<br><br>Monitors and reviews regularly downtime incurred during operation; evaluates and determines possible causes of such, and draws plan to minimize or prevent its occurrence.<br><br>Establishes control measures to ensure that all maintenance jobs and checklists are completed as per schedule and spot checks etc.<br><br>Ensures that necessary equipment, parts, tools and other supplies are identified and available by maintaining minimum and maximum level of spares and also reduce maintenance cost using resources properly.<br><br>Conducts quality control inspection of all incoming electrical and electronic equipment and parts.<br><br>Provides Purchasing personnel with all necessary technical information regarding the purchase of materials and spares, when requested.<br><br>Evaluates Electronic Specialists and <em>Electrical Technicians,</em> trains them to be more productive, instills human and corporate values, resolves conflicts and implements disciplinary action.<br><br>Assists Maintenance Planning in the preparation of technical documents, training needs analysis, maintenance procedures, drawing packages and other related documentation.<br><br>Prepares and signs material issuance slips, purchase requisition, overtime permits and shift change schedules and recommends sick leave for ailing personnel.<br><br>Attends operations meeting and cascades to subordinates company policies, rules / regulations, procedures, objectives, amendments in record forms, work procedures and drawings and all necessary information especially those which pertain to the uplift of the company and individuals.<br><br>To ensure that adequate tools and test equipment are available for personnel to enable them to carry out maintenance work efficiently and quickly.<br><br>To maintain good housekeeping standards throughout his section and ensures that safety regulations are carried out. Ensures and Evaluate all E-waste segregated and set in proper location and discord as per Environment policy.<br><br>Performs all other duties as directed by his superior.<br><br>Conduct toolbox meeting prior to start work as per task assignment.<br><br>Ensure all concerned employees are aware of the exact location of firefighting equipment and fire detection and alarm systems in the immediate area<br><br>Perform firefighting work, including preventing, combating and extinguishing fires to protect lives, property and the environment<br><br>Direct front line representative for the department.<br><br>Respond to alarms involving fire, gas leaks, hazardous substances and rescue work.<br><br>Responsible for the replacement of empty, defective, over pressure and missing fire extinguisher in your area,<br><br>Work permit issuer/receiver<br><br>Ensuring that all his workers are wearing proper personal protective equipment and uses right tools for the right job as per safety standard<br><br>Serve as area and equipment owner to maintain and handle the responsibility of his worker’s health and safety working environment<br><br>Coordinate between Departments for all activities without conflict and interference with other Department/Contractor activities to have a safe work environment.
