University of Doha for Science and Technology – Educational Technology Specialist – Profile:  

The Applied and Experiential Learning (AEL) unite invites applications for the position Educational Technology Specialist. Reporting to the Academic Manager, Applied and Experiential Learning (AEL) the successful candidate will identify, design and incorporate educational technology into teaching and learning practice at the UDST. This requires working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to support learning through the use of technology.

Duties & Responsibilities:    

The successful candidate will support the research and assessment of new technologies and software to make recommendations for acquisition and purchases based on viability of use for UDST.

The successful candidate will support in identifying appropriate educational technology for all types of classroom applications and maintain inventory of current UDST technologies located in classrooms and explore new technologies that can support student and teacher learning.

He/she will collaborate with faculty members to recommend instructional technologies for their programs/courses and deployment, also the migration of content across learning management platforms at UDST.

The successful candidate will assist faculty in identifying and correcting problems and issues within current technology-based programs. He/she will also distribute training materials for employees to enable ongoing learning and development.

The successful candidate will design and deliver training in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning and provide project management services for learning technology planning and implementation.

Other responsibilities include to maintain accurate records of faculty professional development activities and provide quarterly written reports to the Academic Manager, AEL that summarizes faculty PD records and suggests ways to improve faculty support. 

Skills

Education and Certifications:

Master’s degree is required 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience out of which 2 in the education sector

Relevant teaching and/or education certifications are required are preferred.

Language:

Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

Bilingual in English and Arabic is preferable

Other Required Skills:

 Detail-oriented and technologically savvy individual, with a strong experience incorporating educational technology into teaching a and learning. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times. Knowledge of Pedagogy, Curriculum Planning and Teaching Technologies is required. A commitment to effective working relationships across all levels of the organizations is required. Candidate should demonstrate exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
