These attitudes and beliefs shall guide our actions and relationships.</em><p><br></p><strong>Purpose of the role</strong><p><br></p>The Education Assistant is responsible for assisting the daily implementation of the Education programme and following up in the field and conducting outreach visit and activities.<p><br></p><strong>What You Will Do</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Monitor and report on the project activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC standards</li><li>Work with the communities for the identification and enrollment of children in the learning center or NFE activities. </li><li>Distribute and monitor the use of educational materials according to procedures</li><li>Assist the education team and teachers in their work</li><li>Suggest new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities </li><li>Carry out data collection and survey with children using NRC template and tools as required</li><li>Prepare field reports</li><li>Prepare and file relevant documents as required by line manager</li><li>Carry out related mainstreaming of protection in programme daily implementation as per the set NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines, and ensure reporting any breaches/ concerns to the line manager for proper action. </li><li>Ensure that all protection related detected cases are referred to the concerned referral focal point and to the related Protection Coordinator</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Specifically, you will;</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Assist Education Officers in monitoring attendance of children, teachers and bus drivers</li><li>Conduct Field visits in cooperation with Education Coordinator and Education Officers to define the needs and identify new beneficiaries.</li><li>Assist with conducting outreach work and collecting information with identified communities.</li><li>Provide outreach program in the community (life skills and recreational activities) according to the module, curricula, schedule and approach</li><li>Carry out Survey with children using NRC template and tools (Mobenzi)</li><li>Enter on daily and weekly basis data related to beneficiaries and activities in the education data base </li><li>Assist education team in data entry including surveys, observation forms and pre/post test results. </li><li>Assist in distribution of materials and archiving of distribution lists.</li><li>Assist in conducting and preparing mapping of relevant services being provided.</li><li>Assist in conducting regular assessments and producing relevant reports (including focus group discussions, interviews, questionnaires, etc.).</li><li>Assist with planning work on weekly and monthly basis in accordance with work plan.</li><li>Contribute to preparation of relevant documents (including contracts, MoUs, brochures, newsletters, information notes, information board updates) </li><li>Assist with monitoring and following-up on the quality of services provided.</li><li>Monitoring and supervision of transport for beneficiaries (including accompanying beneficiaries on transport).</li><li>Assist in designing and typing questionnaires, tests, surveys and other templates.</li><li>Assist in maintaining archiving system up to date (both in hardcopies and electronically) </li><li>Assist Education Officers in printing and organizing pre and post tests for beneficiaries </li><li>Assist in conducting phone calls and filling surveys for outreach or outcome monitoring</li><li>Assist Education Officers in monitoring attendance of children, teachers and bus drivers</li><li>Assist in organizing education activities for children, training for teachers and awareness sessions for parents</li><li>Assist education team in implementing youth led initiatives and follow up on Parents Community’s Group work</li><li>Maintain relations with refugee and host communities, local authorities and other local actors.</li><li>Coordinate with other NRC core competency staff at field level.</li><li>Report weekly & monthly (or more often, if required) on activities and results to the relevant NRC staff.</li><li>Perform any other Education tasks as assigned by line manager.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong> Professional competencies</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>University degree in education or related field.</li><li>Experience from working with education projects in a humanitarian/recovery context</li><li>Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts</li><li>Qualified and experienced teacher/ master trainer.</li><li>Experience in psycho-social support for children’s and youth’s emotional, social, mental, and spiritual needs. </li><li>Knowledge of NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus.</li><li>Strong documentation, research and report writing skills.</li><li>Knowledge and relevant experience in child protection issues.</li><li>Experience in designing and presenting training programs.</li><li>Experience in participatory programs.</li><li>Experience in community sensitization/ mobilization.</li><li>Proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken
