Rixos Qetaifan Island North

Opening in 2023, Rixos Qetaifan Island North will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s Waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower is the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.

Duty Engineer

This position oversees and manages the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of the physical structure, utility services, equipment, fixtures, and furnishings of the assigned area on the Resort complex.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist in planning and implementing procedures, systems, and controls to ensure an efficient operation of the Engineering department

  • Assist in ensuring that effective preventive maintenance schedules are followed

  • Directly supervise personnel in carrying out work schedules as well as spot-checking to verify quality and employee performance

  • Supervise and provide constructive feedback to all team members to ensure safe work practices, efficient operation, proper preventative maintenance, and repair to equipment

  • Assist in the preparation of consumption reports on power, water, steam, and gas

  • Maintain logs on the movement of stock items and tools and their distribution

  • Prepare weekly staff schedules keeping in mind anticipated business, operating budgets, and standards of service

Your experience and skills include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Basic computer skills in MS Office and ability to use BMS

  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
