All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, veteran status, genetic information, union status and/or beliefs, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. </em><p><br></p><strong><u>Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of BMS equipment to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.</li><li>Monitor and control building systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), lighting, access control, and security through the BMS.</li><li>Conduct regular system tests and calibrations to verify accuracy and functionality of BMS components including but not limited to flow meters, temperature and air quality sensors, pressure transducers, air-monitoring stations, dampers</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the BMS, including communication failures, software glitches, and sensor malfunctions.</li><li>Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and implement system improvements and upgrades.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation of BMS configurations, equipment inventory, maintenance activities, and system changes.</li><li>Provide training and technical support to end-users and facility staff on BMS operations and functionalities.</li><li>Stay updated on the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in building automation systems.</li><li>Job may require the BMS Technician to service and repair HVAC equipment including but not limited to chillers, air-handlers, pumps, motors.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Requirements</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or training in building automation systems are preferred.</li><li>Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience working with BMS in a commercial or industrial setting.</li><li>Technical Skills: Proficiency in BMS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of various BMS platforms and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and Lon Works is desired.</li><li>HVAC Knowledge: Familiarity with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and their integration with BMS.</li><li>Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems effectively.</li><li>Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and end-users.</li><li>Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail in performing system inspections, maintenance, and documentation.</li><li>Adaptability: Willingness to work in a challenging environment and adapt to changing project requirements.</li><li>Physical Stamina: Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including climbing ladders, lifting heavy equipment, and working at heights.</li><li>Working knowledge, experience of Niagara systems and controllers including Niagara 4, Arena, Centraline</li><li>Working Knowledge, experience of Trane Tracer SC</li><li>Working knowledge, experience of Siemens Desigo Insight, Desigo PX</li><li>Working knowledge, experience of Automated Logic WebCTRL</li><li>Working knowledge, experience of Schneider Workplace Tech</li><li>Experience with the setup, operation, calibration, troubleshooting of VAVs and terminal boxes</li><li>Experience with the setup, operation, troubleshooting of VFDs</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Note: This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the BMS Technician position.
