They are what we believe, what customers can expect, and how we deliver.<p><br></p><strong><u>Project Description</u></strong><p><br></p>“Bechtel is currently bidding for The New Murabba Project Infrastructure” which will be built around the concept of sustainability, featuring green areas and walking and cycling paths that will enhance the quality of life by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities. It will also feature an iconic museum, a technology and design university, a multipurpose immersive theater, and more than 80 entertainment and culture venues.<p><br></p>The project will be situated at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads to the North West of Riyadh, over an area of 19 square kilometers, to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents. The project will offer more than 25 million sqm of floor area, featuring more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and more than 980,000 sqm of retail space, as well as 1.4 million sqm of office space, 620,000 sqm of leisure assets, and 1.8 million sqm of space dedicated to community facilities.<p><br></p>The New Murabba project will offer a unique living, working and entertainment experience within a 15-minute walking radius and will have its own internal transport system. It will be approximately 20-minutes’ drive from the airport.<p><br></p>We encourage you to watch this video which gives a glimpse at what we (you) are about to build!<p><br></p>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRh_oy6yItI<p><br></p><strong><u>Position Summary</u></strong><p><br></p>Assigned to the engineering functional group, the position needs a proven track record of Master planning and Design of a District Cooling Plant for a large infrastructure project. Ensure the works are executed in accordance with best practice and to a high standard meeting all associated technical standards and processes to provide the customer with a certainty of outcome.<p><br></p>Specialist position is responsible for the review of project plans and specifications for constructability, conformance to regulatory agency requirements and productivity improvement. Provides consultation and guidance to large and complex Mechanical works for a large infrastructure project. Performs duties with a high degree of latitude, exercising independent judgment and reason. Provides technical guidance and administrative direction to other engineers and other support groups. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and the desire to innovate designs as well as the work processes.<p><br></p>Working location will be a single status assignment at Bechtel/project office and will be coordinating Design Consultant Package Manager to ensure the design packages are completed per the schedule.<p><br></p><strong><u>Major Responsibilities</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements. </li><li> Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups. </li><li> When delegated, assumes a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks. </li><li> Assists in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluations. </li><li> Performs or assists in the performance of problem analysis and original design. </li><li> Reviews and checks work of subordinate engineers. </li><li> Review mechanical systems designs and engineering studies prepared by local and international engineering firms of various residential, commercial institutional, utilities infrastructure to be built. </li><li> Provide guidance and ensure engineering quality design and compliance with project requirements, local design guidelines, local codes, international codes and international standards of independent engineering firms that are carrying out the detailed engineering design. </li><li> Coordinate and visit jobsite as required, to resolve problems, interpret drawings and documents and provide technical support during the construction phase. </li><li> Represent the client in technical meetings and Value Engineering analysis. </li><li> Coordinate with other disciplines, consultants and attend project meetings. </li><li> Review contractors shop drawings, technical queries and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design documents. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Skills & Qualifications</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> University/College graduate with BS in Mechanical Engineering with experience in the design of buildings HVAC, chilled water, HVAC controls, plumbing and fire protection systems. </li><li> Experience in field construction and inspection of mechanical systems for initial acceptance. </li><li> Knowledge in building codes and standards, IBC, IMC, IPC, IFC, ASHRAE, NFPA, ANSI, ASME, AWWA & API. </li><li> Knowledge with AutoCAD, TRACE 700, Elite, MS Word and Excel. </li><li> Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations. </li><li> Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of CAD (both 2-D and 3-D), CAE and relevant Bechtel Standard Computer Applications to perform the work. </li><li> Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved. </li><li> Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular engineering discipline. </li><li> Skill in oral and written communication. </li><li> Professional/Chartered Engineer preferred. </li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Shaping tomorrow together</strong><p><br></p><strong>Bechtel is one of the most respected global engineering, construction, and project management companies.
