We live inclusion.<p><br></p>Project Overview<p><br></p>Role Summary<p><br></p><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>The Client is embarking upon a significant capital program to create the capital of entertainment, sports, and the arts in Riyadh. The program will be an integrated destination offering immersive experiences and memorable moments of delight. The program will involve parallel development and execution of a broad range of assets encompassing leisure, sports, cultural, retail, hospitality, religious, residential, transport and infrastructure.<p><br></p>As a member of the Senior Management team, the Director Engineering and Assurance role is considered a key function for providing accountability to develop the engineering and assurance strategies and execution plans required for the project. This role will be given the authority to execute approved strategies and plans for the project and prepare and drive the team to meet evolving project’s needs. The role will also provide and seek regular feedback and input from the Senior Management team and Client stakeholders.<p><br></p>Key attributes for the successful candidate will be proven large scale (multi-billion dollar) program delivery of complex construction programs, with experience across the full project lifecycle. The successful candidate will also be able to work collaboratively with multiple teams to provide focus and support and innovative solutions.<p><br></p>The following provides a summary of essential duties and responsibilities applicable to the role<p><br></p><ul><li> Progressing asset and infrastructure designs from the approved concept designs to a point where they can be put to tender for construction</li><li> Manage the design consultants output designs to within the approved cost plan budget.</li><li> Manage the production of quality documentation which does not present claims risk.</li><li> Facilitate and participate in value engineering, constructability reviews and sustainability management</li><li> Monitor compliance with all client design and engineering requirements</li><li> Develop standard template for design briefs, architectural competition briefs and LDC scope of work to support procurement of architects, designers, and engineers.</li><li> Lead the procurement and management of specialized consultants to support the Program-level design and engineering requirements</li><li> Develop, maintain, and implement a design management plan for the Program, Precincts and Projects covering all phases of design from pre-concept to shop drawings.</li><li> Develop and manage an integrated design review and approval process (stage gate process) across the entire Program.</li><li> Implement and oversee design reviews in an integrated collaborative platform / environment for all asset designs.</li><li> Responsible for design performance monitoring, design change management reporting and resolution, design management, coordination, scheduling and review, value engineering, constructability reviews, sustainability management, document and version control, and statutory approvals throughout the design development stages.</li><li> Assist in the pre-qualification, qualification, review, and recommendation of design consultants.</li><li> Work with the Client’s Development Team(s) to develop design briefs, architectural competition briefs and LDC scope of work to support procurement of architects, designers and engineers.</li><li> Manage and support the Client’s design and engineering consultants. Responsible for managing the Client appointed designers, overseeing design development, design change reporting and resolution, design coordination, scheduling and review, value management / engineering, constructability reviews, sustainability management, document, and version control, and coordinating statutory approvals throughout the design development stages.</li><li> Oversee the design development process, not limited to drawings (architectural, structural, MEP and landscape), and specifications, site analysis, concept designs, plans, final designs and construction details to confirm compliance with approved themes, dimensions and budget.</li><li> Implement a design to budget approach</li><li> Confirm compliance with all the Client’s design and engineering requirements such as common specification, theming, architectural guidelines, land use guidelines, BIM guidelines and GIS data.</li><li> Advise on budget development, cost estimations and forecasts in order to confirm design upgrades / modifications are continuously reflected.</li><li> Manage all design reviews and approvals in accordance with the Client’s requirements</li><li> Develop and implement a design approval workflow in compliance with the Client’s requirements.</li><li> Review and provide recommendations for all design deliverables at the stage gate approval milestones / gateways.</li><li> Manage, document, and coordinate stage gate design reviews,</li><li> Control the planning and scheduling of the design processes and forecast the dates by which design deliverables shall be required.</li></ul><p><br></p>Technical and speciality skills<p><br></p>Degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or relevant field of study.<p><br></p>25+ years of experience working within Mega/large scale complex design and construction programs across private and/or government sectors.<p><br></p>Must have hands-on experience in delivering projects and have a sound technical and commercial working knowledge.<p><br></p>Promote a culture where Jacobs values, BeyondZero Health & Safety, Inclusion & Diversity and business ethics are embedded in our teams and recognised by our clients.<p><br></p>Significant discipline/ industry presence recognised and valued by industry peers as an authority able to work with teams to solve technical problems and achieve a high level of assurance on project deliverables.<p><br></p>Leverage existing relationships to identify and develop client relationships and provide strategic input to maximise project outcomes.<p><br></p>Demonstrate leadership skills to set clear goals, motivate teams and produce results.
