Deputy Store Manager
Role Purpose:
The Deputy Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day activities of the store. The role holder will also be responsible for acting on behalf of the Store Manager in decision-making responsibilities concerning everyday issues.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Store Strategy Development and Implementation
- Ensure the MAF Retail concepts implementation in store
- Assist in creating the store strategy and ensure implementation in line with MAF Retail business strategy
- Guarantee the correct application of merchandise plan/layouts
Commercial Performance
- Support comparative studies between departments that can contribute to the efficiency of the commercial concepts
- Stay informed about competitor activities and take appropriate measures if necessary
- Guarantee the application of the commercial policy agreed for the store according to the strategy
- Analyse quantitatively and qualitatively the products assortment in the store and propose corrective measures to increase profitability and sales turnover
Merchandise and Stock Management
- Implement the image of freshness, quality and price within the store
- Implement control of company concepts in store
- Ensure proper stock management (stock value, out of stock, orders and merchandise deliveries in all departments)
- Ensure the stock level is according to the budget
- Implement strategies to ensure lowest waste and shrinkage ratio
Store Service Functions
- Supervise the ongoing service and maintenance of the company assets, take measures to conserve and utilize assets for high performance
- Lead the team in delivering, enhancing and answering to all customer needs and service expected
- Ensure the enhancement of hygiene standards and the stores safety and security
- Guarantee the quality of basic services offered to clients in the store
- Develop the price image and freshness image
- Ensure high quality product presentation in the Store
Human Capital Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work
- Apply and follow MAF Retail’s Human Capital corporate policies and relevant procedures and instructions
- Provide training and feedback to diret reportees when required
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications/education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management or equal
Minimum experience
- 5+ years in a managerial function, 2+ years in the retail
