<p><strong>Our client is looking to hire a Demurrage Supervisor to be based in Dubai, UAE.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong><u>General requirements:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Shipping studies, or seagoing experience as an officer or appropriate office experience in ships operations</li><li>Excellent knowledge of Shipping software</li><li>Fully Conversant with relevant parts of ISM Code</li><li>Good command of the English Language</li><li>Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations</li><li>Good communication skills, team player</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong><u>Job Description:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Monitoring vessels in coordination with ship operators for demurrage for charterers account</li><li>Calculate demurrage claims in accordance with charter parties, fixtures recap and charterers terms</li><li>Drive any counter claims received from Charterers up to the point of final settlement</li><li>As part of loss prevention communicate to the Operations Team any recommendation’s and provide guidance to ensure Owners claims are complete and 100 % recoverable</li><li>Bring to the attention of the Chartering Team via the Operations Manager any clauses redrafting of which could put Owners in a better position in maximising demurrage recoverability</li><li>Assisting the Freight Collection Manager in supervising the collection of demurrage</li><li>Liaising with Freight Collection Manager and ICLP Manager regarding disputed demurrage claims</li><li>Initiate any bulletins to Operators and Masters via the Operations Manager on loss prevention</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>The Operations Team</strong> is responsible for the commercial management of the vessels in accordance with the relevant management agreements. Depending on the commercial employment of the vessels, the services may extend from full post fixture operations for the spot vessels to the monitoring and ensuring compliance with the time charter parties and/or pool agreements provisions.</p><p> </p><p>The Operations Team is particularly responsible for: </p><p> </p><ul><li>Ship Operations</li><li>Freight, Hire and other voyage related claims collection</li><li>Bunker Purchasing</li><li>Disbursement Handling</li><li>Demurrage Handling and recovery</li><li>Liaising with Owners, Brokers and Charterers on the subject of existing contracts and potential employment of the vessels</li><li>Analyzing voyage orders, routing and/or time charterers instructions on receipt and communicate to vessels additional instructions, as required to protect Owners interest, and monitoring compliance thereafter</li><li>Monitoring Bills of Lading including authorising release of cargo if Bills of Lading are not available to Master for discharge, checking Letters of Indemnity, collecting accomplished Bills of Lading etc.</li><li>Monitoring compliance with Charter Parties</li><li>Ensuring vessels are supplied with sufficient and appropriate grade of bunkers in a cost effective manner</li><li>Concluding bunker agreements</li><li>Monitoring and analysing vessels’ performance at sea and in port and give pro-active guidance to vessels to eliminate grounds for underperformance claims, off-hires and delays</li><li>Invoicing and collecting freight / hire / demurrages and other claims as may arise under relevant Charter Parties</li><li>Finalising time charter accounts</li><li>Invoicing and collecting Demurrages</li><li>Keeping vessels P&L up to date daily</li><li>Appointing agents and approving agents’ disbursements accounts</li><li>Negotiating towage, pilotage, agency and other operational contracts and appointments</li><li>Issuing of commercial Statement(s), as requested by owners or other Teams</li><li>Representing the Company at industry forums</li><li>The effective use of Company’s software, AMOS EMS (SMS) and DDR II for operational performance monitoring</li></ul><li></li>
