Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors academic progress of students through continuing degree audits and works with both students and departments to certify students for graduation. Evaluate and record University Honors for graduates. Works with University Communications to publish the commencement program (spring and fall semesters). Maintains student files and records; documents all pertinent student information; updates computerized information system regarding changes to student status. Development of improved systems for data entry and file management. Assists with the development of degree audit and student planning policies. Provides records, evaluations, interpretations, other requested data, recommendations, and conclusions to Department Chairs, Assistant Registrars’, and Registrar. Participates in commencement activities as assigned. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Assist with Records management and form processing. Abide by all University, State and Federal policies, enforcing FERPA.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years’ experience in an academic or office environment, preferably in a higher education setting related to enrollment. Knowledge of computer information systems and Microsoft software (excel, word, publisher, etc.). Excellent organizational, data entry, research, writing and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information. Ability to adhere to and enforce all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Louisiana University System, as well as all federal, state, and local laws.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree 3-5 years previous College/University work experience Prior transcript evaluation, degree audit, student planning or closely related experience preferred. Knowledge of student information systems, communications management and work flow related to transcript evaluation, degree audit and student planning. Computer and technology skills particularly with student information systems, Microsoft Office and imaging software. Experience with an integrated student information system preferred.
