<strong>Overview / Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>Wood is looking for a DCS Operator to join our team in Basra, Iraq<p><br></p><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong><p><br></p>To carry out all startup duties associated with the safe, efficient and environmentally sound startup and operation of utilities, process systems & machinery in accordance with the approved procedures<p><br></p>These duties include responding to emergency conditions, preparation of equipment for maintenance, housekeeping and proactive monitoring of the area and its equipment<p><br></p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>:<p><br><br></p><ul><li> Perform initial valve line up in accordance with Start Up Work Packs. </li><li> Perform checks to ensure utilities systems are commissioned and available for use. </li><li> Perform machinery startup and shutdown in accordance with procedures. </li><li> Monitor all equipment in assigned area and perform basic care checks and report any equipment that requires maintenance attention. </li><li> Monitor all work within the assigned area and work with maintenance, project and other personnel to ensure the activities covered by the permit are undertaken in a safe manner. </li><li> Prepare equipment for maintenance and re-commission when complete. Complete isolations in accordance with Work Management Manual requirements. </li><li> Log operations information as required. </li><li> Carry out shift handover in a detailed and comprehensive manner. </li><li> Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the operating area to ensure safe working conditions. </li><li> Perform startup and shut down procedure red lining when required. </li><li> Participate in daily Tool Box Talks with Start Up Team on specific activity to be executed during the day. </li><li> Assists the effort to capture startup lessons learned. </li><li> Work directly with the foreign experts to ensure the transfer of technical advice during the initial period of operation. </li><li> Interface with DCS System Engineer and I & C Technicians. </li><li> Apply procedures to planned startup and shutdown and unplanned shutdown. </li><li> Detailed unit-specific startup, shutdown and emergency response. </li><li> Deal with any out of specification material in accordance with procedures. </li><li> Communicate with other work groups and personnel during the operation and monitoring of the DCS console. <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Skills / Qualifications</strong><p><br><br></p><ul><li> Comprehensive knowledge, skills and experience in Oil & Gas Process Operations. </li><li> Strong technical knowledge supported with either an Engineering Degree, Advanced Diploma Qualification or appropriate qualification from Basra Oil Institute. </li><li> English language skills – to TOIC level 3 minimum with emphasis on technical comprehension. </li><li> Literate in the use of standard computer software programs. Word, Excel, etc. </li><li> Minimum of 5 years of experience. </li><li> Good understanding of control of work systems , HSE practices and application in the field. </li><li> Can do troubleshooting skills. </li><li> Ability to read & understand P & ID’s and PFD’s. </li><li> Ability to read & understand Control Narratives & Safeguarding documentation (Cause & Effect). <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Company Overview</strong><p><br></p>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
