Job Description
Inventory and Inspection
Upon receipt of the new hardware for installation:
- Inspect the packing for signs of possible shipping damage.
- Inspect the carton components against the packing list for missing equipment.
- Visually inspect for physical damage after unpacking.
Installation and Physical Planning.
- Conduct basic installation of technical solutions following predefined procedures and tasks in everyday activities
- Ability to lift to 30 lbs. when necessary
- Plan the physical layout of the equipment using the physical planning manuals.
- Review floor-loading requirements.
- Ensure that equipment power requirements and specified receptacles will be available.
- Survey the installation site for specific requirements for moving the equipment from the delivery platform to the installation area.
- Ensure that all parts and bills of material are on hand to accomplish conversions and feature changes to presently installed equipment
- Ensure that the required power outlets have been installed.
Maintenance of VAS Supplied Equipment.
- Corrective maintenance, upon customers calls for any required service of any piece of equipment currently under maintenance agreement or warranty of VAS.
- Preventive maintenance, carry out routine maintenance on all the equipment currently under maintenance agreement or warranty. Check error logs, and action accordingly.
- Perform troubleshooting, parts replacement, system upgrades and deployments
- Escalate technical issues to more senior level technical specialist and supports more senior level technical specialists in complex deployments
- Responsible to be on call at select times, work OT hours and have a reliable automobile to arrive at customer locations.
- Understanding of the importance of having a sense of urgency, communicating effectively and having a keen attention to detail
Engineering Changes and Upgrades
- Installation / implementation of all upcoming engineering changes in the installed equipment.
- Upgrade of machine microcode.
- Any required hardware upgrade by customer.
- Code upgrade and configuration changes
- Perform part replacements as directed by the technical support Center. This includes the timely and accurate submission of all associated documentation, part return within 24 hours of the event
