The data analyst will support in business case analysis through in-depth research and data gathering from different sources. The candidate is expected to derive strategic insights and conclusions that are shared with Oxagon’s leadership team through visualizations and custom reports using different tools such as Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel, and email, etc.
The candidate must be eager to learn and quickly adopt new analytical tools that help distill insights that support strategic decision-making within Oxagon’s Data Office and NEOM.
Overall, the business analyst is expected to have a proactive role in helping other team members including
working closely with the Data Office Lead, and other Oxagon stakeholders, as needed, to achieve solutions to the business problem at hand and drive actions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at Oxagon and NEOM to identify and align on data and analytics needs to drive strategic initiatives, identifying interdependencies with other domains and functions
- Gather, research, and analyze data to identify trends, generate actionable insights and present strategic insights to Data Office lead and leadership teams
- Update graphs, excel models, and data tables when new datasets are received regarding key economic data of Oxagon and NEOM such as population, employment, and Land/GFA data among
- others
- Combine adequate sources of information to produce solid answers: internal/external databases, calls with field experts when expertise is needed on a specific topic and incorporate the input into Oxagon and NEOM material
- Use Excel to organize and analyze data, create formulas and functions to identify trends and patterns to be leveraged in insights regarding Oxagon / NEOM developments
- Propose, create, and present dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI and create custom reports to enable specific strategic decisions, identifying opportunities to improve business operations within Oxagon and NEOM
- Prepare executive-level storylines and written materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations and other media formats) to be used for strategic decisions at Oxagon and NEOM
- Work closely with the Data Office and wider Oxagon stakeholders to ensure the data is organized to fit for the purpose of the required analysis and reflect the latest Oxagon / NEOM developments
- Evaluate data and data sources for accuracy and relevance
- Update data models, associated PowerPoints and Power BI dashboards to reflect most updated version of Oxagon data
- Ensure Data Repository is up to date with latest data points and communicate data updates with DO team and Strategy Office lead
- Manage Oxagon / NEOM/ external users’ accessibility to SharePoint Data Repository, Oracle databases, and Power BI dashboards
- Coordinate with data engineer (internal / external) to ingest new data into Oracle / PBI and ensure it is aligned with current data structure and data needs
- Attend external partners’ meetings to provide input, gather feedback and discuss next steps with the Data Office / Strategy Office team
- Ensure Data Office calendar is adhered to so that all platforms are updated and maintained according to the timeline set by Oxagon’s Data Office team
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of working experience in business consulting, data analytics, private equity, public sector, or other relevant fields
- Bachelors’ degree in business, economics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, and finance
- Master’s degree in data science/analytics, business technology, or MBA is a plus
- Strong written / oral communication and presentation skills to convey ideas and insights
- Experience in presenting analysis results to a wide set of stakeholders including Strategy Office Lead
- Good team player, high attention to detail, creativity in presentations, visualizations, and business solutions
- Robust critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills
- Ability to gather the right data from different resources including external expert calls, internal databases, and market research
- Ability to understand complex data sets and develop an effective storyboard
- Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Bi, SQL or similar querying languages
