Overview

***This position will be physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP.***

  • Reports to the Custodial Services Manager and is responsible for the leadership of the custodian staff. Performs general cleaning and sanitation, floor maintenance, set-ups/moving projects, and miscellaneous duties as required. Completes/provides checklist documentation for all tasks of the custodian staff.

  • Maintain up to date schedules, available upon request for review, delineating cleaning areas, and duties of custodial personnel for each building and area.
  • Oversee all activities performed by custodial personnel and landscaping personnel.
  • Manage all custodial personnel; including scheduling daily activities, managing appropriate leaves, supervision of duties, and inspection of duties.
  • Assist in set up of special events
  • Performs general cleaning and sanitation, floor maintenance, set-ups/moving projects, and miscellaneous duties as required.
  • Completes/provides checklist documentation for all tasks of the custodian staff to the Facility Maintenance Lead.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
    • Must be able to obtain CAC eligibility
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Must be able to obtain a Host Country Driver’s License.
    • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of four (4) years related experience
    • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience 
  • Skills:
    • Ability to supervise employees effectively; work under pressure, strict timelines, and regulations.
    • Ability to establish and maintain and effective working relationship with external and internal customers, ability to keep records and prepare reports.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing to customers and workers.
    • Respond to public inquiries and complaints in a tactful and effective manner.
    • Is detail-/result-oriented and requires organizational skills.
    • Able multitask and demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work as a team leader on a time scale. Understands cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
    • Experienced with MSDS
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Oversees all activities performed by custodial personnel and landscaping personnel.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
    • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
    • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
