<strong><u>Job Description</u></strong><p><br></p><ul><li> Fabricates and repairs costumes, character/mascot and craft pieces</li><li> Alters existing costumes with high attention to detail and skilled craftsmanship to ensure show/costume quality</li><li> Works with costuming team on costuming daily operations of the, including, but not limited to checking in staff, handing out daily assignments, answering radio calls from green rooms and other duties as assigned by management</li><li> Participates in off-site or on-site public relations events involving costumes and performers</li><li> Helps crew with daily laundry, including washing, hanging, ironing and steaming costume pieces as needed</li><li> Organizes weekly dry cleaning pick up and drop off and records items that have been taken and returned by the dry cleaner</li><li> Helps Costuming Assistant Manager in maintaining accurate and up to date costume inventory</li><li> Keeps track of supplies and places orders for replacement in a timely manner</li><li> Assists in a team leader capacity with other functions within entertainment when required</li><li> Attends department meetings as requested</li><li> Interfaces with all colleagues and outside vendors in a professional and courteous manner</li><li> Assists with administrative tasks when needed</li><li> Has the ability to carry and move relatively heavy items</li><li> Shares information and best practices with other colleagues</li><li> Develops and helps maintain up to date documentation</li><li> Maintains communication throughout the Costuming Department</li><li> Performs other duties as requested by senior management</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Essential</u></strong>:<p><br></p><ul><li>Higher secondary or equivalent education</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of artistic craft experience</li><li>Painting, drawing, sculpting, airbrushing</li><li>Working with sewing machine and hand sewing</li><li>Experience working with glues and solvents</li><li>Proficiency in English</li><li>Past experience working with performers</li><li>Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint</li><li>Attention to detail and highly organized</li></ul><p><br></p><strong><u>Desirable</u></strong>:<p><br></p><ul><li>Associate degree or higher in theatre or fine arts</li><li>5 years sewing and/or fine arts background</li><li>3 years of experience within theme park, theatrical productions or cruise ships</li><li>Costume repair and manufacturing background</li><li>Advanced level computer proficiency</li><li>Specialization in costume technology</li><li>Industrial and domestic sewing machines proficiency</li><li>Experienced working with character/mascot costume pieces</li><li>Theme park experience</li><li>People management skills</li></ul>
