<strong>Overview / Responsibilities</strong><p><br></p>Wood is currently looking for a Corrosion Engineer to work in our Iraq office. This is a highly strategic role within the department and the ideal candidate will be at Principal or Lead level in their career with extensive years of experience within the industry in a similar role.t he Corrosion Engineer would work in the Operations Technical department and would be involved in day to day operations support for corrosion management. The engineer would be primarily focused on static equipment such as piping, pressure vessels, tanks and pipelines. Duties include but not limited to<p><br><br></p><ul><li> Corrosion surveillance at assigned assets โ€“including stewardship of fluid analysis, coupons/probes </li><li> Interface with operation/maintenance for integrity related issues. Develop recommendations as needed </li><li> Planning, execution and Stewardship of corrosion prevention programs including CP, chemical treatment, coatings, internal environmental control program such as oxygen exclusion </li><li> Stewardship of inspection programs in assets assigned. Review inspection data and provide followup recommendations for monitoring, corrosion control, inspections and/or repairs </li><li> Fitness for service assessments </li><li> Repair recommendations </li><li> Root cause failure analyses </li><li> Materials recommendations </li><li> Conduct risk analysis as needed </li><li> Develop periodic reports to management on materials and corrosion control issues, opportunities, Key performance indicators, and risks </li><li> Serve as single point of contact to operations and maintenance for certain asset or functional aspect of corrosion management <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Skills / Qualifications</strong><p><br><br></p><ul><li> Bachelors in Engineering or Chemistry โ€“ Masters or Ph.D with specialization in Corrosion preferred </li><li> Excellent academic background </li><li> 5+ years in oil and gas preferred. Understanding of corrosion mechanism and experience in corrosion management </li><li> Willing to spend time in the plant(s) </li><li> Strong Analytical skills </li><li> Communication skills </li><li> Good English speaking and writing skills </li><li> Interpersonal skills </li><li> Good computer skills </li><li> Recent materials or mechanical graduates or students graduating shortly with exceptional academic accomplishment may apply <br></li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Company Overview</strong><p><br></p>Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
