Senior IP Network Engineer

Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining large and complex networks for clients of ours. Ideal candidate should be able to provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.

As a member of the Network Engineering Team, you will maintain advanced networking and security technologies. You will troubleshoot, implement, and improve standards, implementations, and procedures related to all cloud and data center networking technologies, including but not limited to, LAN/WAN, switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls. You will participate in cross-team and organisational projects, designing, documenting, and implementing new and secure networking solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and engage in the entire lifecycle of a network, including inception, network design, qualification, deployment, operation, and optimisation
  • Create and update customer network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards
  • Participate in organisational objective planning sessions
  • Manage relationships with third party vendors
  • Cross-train and mentor teammates

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 4-6+ years of experience in Routing & Switching
  • Senior Level experience with TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies, such as MPLS, BGP, DNS, IPsec, etc.
  • Experience with BGP Peering relationship management
  • Knowledge of Dark Fiber and the technologies surrounding it
  • Python, Ansible, DevOps Methodology knowledge is also preferred
  • Knowledge of firewalls, security configurations and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to work effectively within an Agile framework.
  • Skilled at presenting technical policies, proposals, and designs
  • Clear communicator with a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage long term, project/milestone-based work with multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco CCNA
  • Cisco CCNP

Some of your main tasks will include include:

  • Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Monitoring performance and ensuring system availability and reliability
  • Performing network maintenance and system upgrades

Location: On Premise in one of our Libyan Offices (Tripoli, Misrata or Benghazi).
