<p>As a Controller in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of our organization within the DIFC’s regulatory framework. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, implementing effective financial controls, and providing strategic guidance to support informed decision-making. Your expertise in financial management and compliance with DIFC regulations will contribute to the financial stability and success of our organization within this prestigious financial hub.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ol><li>Financial Management:</li></ol><ul><li>Oversee and manage all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting within DIFC guidelines.</li><li>Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with DIFC regulations.</li><li>Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial risks specific to the DIFC environment.</li><li>Perform financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations to enhance financial performance within DIFC guidelines.</li></ul><ol><li>Financial Reporting and Compliance:</li></ol><ul><li>Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with DIFC regulations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).</li><li>Liaise with external auditors to coordinate and oversee audits in accordance with DIFC requirements.</li><li>Stay updated with changes in DIFC regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements, ensuring their proper implementation.</li></ul><ol><li>Budgeting and Forecasting:</li></ol><ul><li>Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts that align with DIFC’s financial planning framework.</li><li>Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions in line with DIFC guidelines.</li><li>Support the development and tracking of departmental budgets and cost control measures within DIFC parameters.</li></ul><ol><li>Internal Controls and Risk Management:</li></ol><ul><li>Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of financial data within DIFC’s regulatory environment.</li><li>Identify and manage financial risks specific to DIFC, including compliance, operational, and market risks.</li><li>Conduct periodic risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.</li></ul><ol><li>Relationship Management:</li></ol><ul><li>Collaborate with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, auditors, and other stakeholders in the DIFC to ensure compliance and build strong professional relationships.</li><li>Serve as a point of contact for DIFC regulatory inquiries and reporting requirements.</li></ul><ol><li>Team Leadership and Development:</li></ol><ul><li>Lead and manage the finance team within DIFC, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.</li><li>Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.</li><li>Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide ongoing feedback to team members.</li></ul><p>Requirements:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.</li><li>Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role within the DIFC or a regulated financial institution.</li><li>Strong knowledge of DIFC regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and financial management best practices.</li><li>Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, with a solid understanding of technology platforms used within the DIFC.</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders within the DIFC ecosystem.</li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a dynamic and regulated environment.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.</li></ul><p></p>
