Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Consumer and Market Research Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive market research, analysing consumer behaviour, and providing valuable insights to drive strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct extensive market research to identify consumer trends, competitor analysis, and emerging market opportunities in the retail industry.
  • Obtain and secure updated and timely information, data and insights about the local, regional and global markets and consumers through both internal and external sources.
  • Collect and analyse data from various sources, such as surveys, focus groups, sales reports, and online platforms, etc. to evaluate market potential, consumer preferences, and buying patterns.
  • Build insightful future scenarios with a main focus on the market, competitors, consumers and customers.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and customer experience, to provide actionable recommendations based on consumer and market insights.
  • Develop and execute research methodologies, including designing questionnaires, conducting interviews, and managing data collection processes.
  • Lead the dialogue and co-operation among all stakeholders (internal and external) who contribute with research results, metrics and data. These include research agencies and suppliers of standard research such as consumer tracker, web/social analytics, etc.
  • Provide, create, develop and maintain a process of market monitoring and reports generating in respect of social, local, demographic trends and local and regional economies for each market.
  • Monitor and track market share, and industry trends to identify potential risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Ability to comfortably communicate with and present to senior management team members.
  • 1.5+ years’ proven experience as a market research analyst or a similar role within the retail industry.
  • Proficiency with large datasets and data tools (e.g. CRM, social listening tools)
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Track record of synthesizing inputs, drawing insights, and communicating to appropriate stakeholders throughout the company.
  • Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively with a team(s) in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • IKEA organisational knowledge, in particular the IKEA structure and work processes.
  • Experience working successfully within a matrixed organization.

This position is full-time and is located in Kuwait. Some travel may be required.
