Consultant – Health informatics

Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for providing safe and efficient design & implementation for DHAMAN’s Health Informatics Systems; optimizing the Electronic Health Records (EHR); advising and educating Healthcare Services staff at all levels; executing data analyses, as well as improving clinical efficiencies and monitoring overall operations of the Healthcare Information Systems

Key Roles and Responsibility

Policies & Processes

Participate in the development and implementation of the Health Informatics section’s policies and processes in order to achieve the IT Division’s objectives.

Health Informatics Activities

• Identify Healthcare practice processes, determine system requirements and optimize system performance and technology utilization by clinical practitioners.
• Provide inputs and participate in the design and implementation of new informatics solutions, data structures and decision-support within the healthcare contexts.
• Work closely with the Clinical & Medical departments and Healthcare Staff to identify Health Informatics System required improvements.
• Assist Healthcare Staff with data management, facilitate the usage of medical records, ensure the integrity of electronic patient data and proactively support the Healthcare Staff in all related Health Information issues.
• Design and develop DHAMAN’s Information Governance Framework throughout the Hospitals and PHCs including Health Information protocols and policies while ensuring overall Healthcare Records privacy, confidentiality, quality, security and compliance with regulations and DHAMAN’s Healthcare Delivery standards.
• Test and evaluate current Healthcare Informatics System continuously, identify system deficiencies and develop plans to improve the processes and rectify the identified deficiencies.
• Assess Healthcare staff learning needs and develop training plans and materials to improve employee knowledge in coordination with the Training section.
• Keep abreast of the latest applications, technology and trends in the Health Informatics field to keep process up to date and efficient.
• Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.

Reports

• Provide accurate, timely and proactive information both to drive and to keep up with the ambition and pace of improvement across DHAMAN’s Hospitals and PHCs.
• Prepare and submit reports on a regular basis to the Direct Manager that cover the section’s activities.

Skills

Qualifications and Certifications

• Bachelor Degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Health Informatics would be an advantage.
• Professional Certifications in the field of Health Informatics or related field would be an advantage.

Work Experience

• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in the same field.
