<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><strong>Job Overview:<br><br></strong>Operationally reports to: Construction Manager<br><br>Functionally reports to: General Superintendent<br><br>Liaise With Project Construction Manager, Project Procurement Manager / Coordinator, Project Safety Advisor, Project Quality Manager, Discipline Managers, Warehouse Supervisor, Sub-contractors, All Superintendents, Personnel, Production Engineers.<br><br>Supervises Supervisors, Foremen & Yard workforce.<br><br>Leads the fabrication yard construction effort for his defined scope of work.<br><ul><li> Plans, directs and leads the construction effort in applying the most cost-effective plan to completion and<br><br></li></ul>to lead the execution of that plan in accordance with our Corporate and Area guidelines and operating<br><br>standards.<br><ul><li> Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day fabrication management of the project principally through<br><br></li></ul>the forecast and control of multi discipline labor.<br><ul><li> Responsible for implementation and co-ordination of the scope of work as related to construction<br><br></li></ul>onshore, pre-commissioning, loadout of the facilities in conformance with the requirements of the<br><br>Contract, the Scope of Work, and in accordance with the Project Schedule. This will be achieved whilst<br><br>maintaining the standards of safety and quality defined in the company procedures.<br><ul><li> It is imperative that the fabrication management of the company to provide direction for the management<br><br></li></ul>of the project within the constraints of our multi-project environment.<br><ul><li> It is fundamental for the construction activities to be managed in the best interest of the shareholders of QFAB.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Key Tasks and Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Seeks guidance from the Construction Manager and Fabrication Management as appropriate before</li><li>making critical and important decisions</li><li>Provides direction and makes decisions in pursuit of the project and area goals and objectives.</li><li>Provides project leadership to the yard Supervisors.</li><li>Sets standards of behavior.</li><li>Solicits ideas from the team members to overcome any difficulties that may be encountered</li><li>during the implementation of the project.</li><li>Directs and coordinates his construction team in the execution of the project.</li><li>Fosters an environment for building team morale and builds consensus within the team.</li><li>Generates a sense of urgency among the team members to get things done.</li><li>Holds the members of his construction team accountable for work performed per their roles and responsibilities.</li><li>Clearly delegates actions and responsibilities and defines deliverable requirements in terms of both scope and schedule to team members.</li><li>Concentrates on doing the Fabrication Project Superintendent’s job and allow subordinates to have independence in performing their functions, however get involved in all the important decisions on the projects and become familiar with all the relevant details.</li><li>Facilitates timely problem resolution with the construction team members.</li><li>Facilitates the interface between the construction team, the safety and quality departments.</li><li>Plans the project to a level of detail to enable sound decision making and clear definition of weekly requirements to those executing the work.</li><li>Forecasts tools and equipment needs for the scope of work being undertaken.</li><li>Identifies specific training needs in advance of the requirement.</li><li>Reviews the plan weekly in consultation with the Project Construction Manager and other team members and agree and confirm the target plan activities and manning requirements.</li><li>Demonstrates good planning and organization in day to day activities.</li><li>Obtains commitment from the Project Construction team on the timely delivery of data to ensure the labor force allocated to the work is productively used.</li><li>Monitors construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance.
