Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Engineer – E&I (Iraqi local nationals only) t h is position, and work pattern is 6/1 basis as such, we can only consider applications from local Iraqi nationals residing in Basra and surrounding areas.
– Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of Construction Scope (Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom) to Completion & Ready for Commission status.
– Responsible for monitoring Construction Contractors technical compliance and quality standards are been achieved.
– Progress reporting to Lead Construction engineers.
– Monitor the planned dates for the project deliverables from sub-contractor is line with the construction sequence and further to the hand over sequence.
– Assure that the final design has been followed by the construction contractor.
Safety Responsibility:
– Monitors for contractors HSSE performance, meeting ROO minimum standards, Compliance with HSE execution plan and delivery against safety road map activities/actions.
– Participating in Safety Leadership coordination with ROO Construction teams. Proactively develop behaviors and culture of safety first.
– Identify hazards and controls, constructability improvements to reduce safety and improve efficiency
– Participate as team member in safety incident investigations providing interface with contractors HSE team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
– Support and Collaborate with the home office engineering design team to properly implement ideas to complete significant projects and provide all engineering site support.
– Provide Red mark-ups on the Engineering Documents and suggest changes as per as built site conditions.
– Provide Construction engineering support to construction and commissioning activities.
– Experience in loop checking, instrumentats calibration; E&I panels power up, FAT, SAT & ISAT.
– Experience in Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom systems like, UPS, Solarpower system, Transformers, ICSS, DCS, RTU, CCTV, ACS, etc.
– Performs coordination and communications with Design Engineering to resolve technical problems.
– Responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, coordinating with lead construction engineers and Client.
– Ensure that contractors construction team implements and executes the construction scope as per technical specification quality standards and project schedule requirements
– Should have strong technical knowledge in engineering, project management skills, proficiency in interpreting blueprints and construction plans
– Coordinate with ROO site engineers to ensure delivery and quality of construction work packs are inline with DPR/WPR/MPR and construction schedule.
– Ensure work packs are back loaded by the sub-contractor and moved into close out team as soon as possible post construction and ensuring all punch list items are defined with completion.
– Conducting all site walkdown’s with ROO site engineers for obtaining the construction completion, Mechnical completion till final commissioning completion and handover the system to ROO by engaging the sub-contractor in every phase of works.
– Working with the Projects team, development of a construction strategy & execution plan to effectively execute construction deliverables for the project.
– Participate in contractor mobilization and Go No Go process ensuring critical HSSE, construction, quality, logistics, material management, project services, and systems are compliant to ROO standards and issued as mobilization plan
– Attend Daily/Weekly/Monthly meetings with contractor to review discipline specific progress and schedule compliance.
– Ensure construction contractor site material control and bagging and tagging activities are in line with discipline specific construction schedule requirements.
– Manage contractor Hand On Tools Time to achieve efficiency. Proactively identify and promote effective working methods with the construction contractor.
– Ensure site TQ’s are raised by contractor as required. Ensure that the engineering response to the TQ’S are expedited and CIC implements changes corrections on site. Ensure contractor compiles evidence of closed TQs and provides documentation as part of completions process
– Ensure and assure contractor installs and completes work in line with ITR requirements. Manage the contractor during the seamless interface from area construction to system/sub system completion.
– Ensure that discipline handover documentation /Dossier are complete as per project requirements. Responsible to ensure that the contractor has all required drawings up to date and including redlines/as- built.
– Review contractor reports and MoM for accuracy identify and report incorrect reporting.
– Coordinating with construction walkdown and obtaing the mechanical completion.
– Ensure the execution of the head office activities concerning pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, test run and handing over of the plant to the Client according to contractual requirements and project objectives in terms of safety, quality, budget, and schedule.
– Manage site activities such as commissioning and start up. Ensure compliance of the activities for which is responsible with the established process and HSE requirements, while respecting the relative time and cost target
– Monitor and ensure surveillance activities are efficiently and effectively performed.
– Apply project flawless principles ensuring cleanliness and tightness controls are defined by the contractor and implemented as required
– Ensure preservation activities and controls are identified within work packs and construction contractor complies with preservation requirements
