Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to support the NEOM’s sector communications function. You’ll be responsible for supporting NEOM’s various sectors and regions’ communications initiatives and programs. You will have at least 5+ years’ experience in communications for a large, dynamic and decentralized organization, or experience in account management in an agency.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Responsibilities and activities

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of NEOM’s sector communications objectives and goals by providing innovative communications content
  • Develop, implement and update Communications Division operational plans and oversee their implementation to take part in the realization of the envisioned future of NEOM
  • Collaborate with relevant NEOM staff members, stakeholders and leaders to identify required projects and initiatives that support the achievement of NEOM’s strategic communications vision
  • Ensure cross function and department alignment for all communication activities
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal and external communications mediums
  • Supervise communication projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready
  • Take lead on monitoring and reporting of assigned sectors and regions
  • Ensure communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization
  • Monitoring of the NEOM Media inbox

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Client servicing and stakeholder management
  • High level of networking / collaborative skills, resilience and ability to act quickly and swiftly
  • Manage multiple tasks, events and activities
  • Create and deliver presentations to support planning for communications initiatives
  • Develop coordinated schedules and plans for communication initiatives
  • Understanding of the local and regional media landscape / journalist contacts.
  • Good messaging and editorial skills
  • Strong communication skills for expressing ideas to external and internal stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is also desirable)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
