Civil Engineer (Roads)
Job Description
<p>The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating an engineering plan in all aspects of civil , roads design, production of plans, specifications and estimates; by utilizing strong organizational and communication skills, this candidate will also have the ability to execute a project based on the criteria outlined.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver civil engineering services that meet Company’, its customers’ and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget</li><li>Oversee the civil engineering design in connection with all aspects of the roads development and ensure compliance of design with specified technical standards and approved project parameters</li><li>Provide technical inputs on the design and construction of civil engineering works including earthworks, geotechnical engineering, sub-structures, roads and car parks, drainage and various infrastructure works</li><li>Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures; ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes</li><li>Observe testing performed by the Contractor and determine conformance with the Contract Documents</li><li>Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities</li><li>Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems</li><li>Develop and review specifications, including design criteria</li><li>Verify the accuracy of Prices and Quantities included in the Contract Documents for Construction activities</li><li>Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in civil engineering</li><li>Provide General direction to Contractor in the construction site of the project through technical references</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering</li><li>7 years minimum experience in Civil Road projects</li><li>Relevant work experience on similar projects (Design and Construction) is a must</li><li>Full knowledge of Saudi Standards</li><li>Candidate will have a range of technical abilities related to all technical aspects of roads projects, in additional to the Civil related knowledge (site preparation, site development, underground utilities, landscaping, etc.)</li><li>Experience in managing the design/installation/operation/maintenance of Road projects including storm water drainage management</li><li>Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of CAD (both 2-D and 3-D) e.g AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel for managing design reviews</li></ul><li><br></li>
