<strong>Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – $$$ – Dubai, United Arab Emirates <br><br></strong>As the CTO with a backend technology focus, you will play a critical role in shaping our technology strategy and driving the execution of our backend systems. You will be responsible for leading and managing our backend engineering teams, ensuring the scalability, performance, and reliability of our infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, software development, and operations, to deliver high-quality and innovative backend solutions.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br><ul><li>Backend Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive backend technology strategy that aligns with our overall business objectives. </li><li>Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership and mentorship to the backend engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. </li><li>System Architecture: Define and design the architecture of our backend systems, ensuring scalability, robustness, and extensibility. </li><li>Technical Roadmap: Create and manage the technical roadmap for backend technology, prioritizing projects and initiatives based on business needs and customer requirements. </li><li>Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management and software development teams to understand customer needs, translate them into technical requirements, and drive the development of backend solutions. </li><li>Team Management: Build and manage a high-performing backend engineering team, including recruitment, training, and performance management. </li><li>Technical Standards: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development methodologies to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable backend systems. </li><li>Infrastructure and Operations: Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and optimization of our backend infrastructure and systems, ensuring high availability and performance. </li><li>Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends related to backend technology, evaluate their potential impact on our business, and make recommendations for adoption. </li><li>Risk Management: Identify potential security risks and implement measures to mitigate them, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and compliance with relevant regulations. <br><br></li></ul>Requirements:<br><ul><li>Proven experience 10+ years in a leadership role as a CTO or similar, with a strong focus on backend technologies. </li><li>Extensive expertise in designing and developing backend systems, utilizing modern backend technologies, frameworks, and languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Ruby). </li><li>In-depth knowledge of databases, caching mechanisms, messaging queues, API design, and other backend technologies. </li><li>Solid understanding of system architecture, scalability, performance optimization, and security best practices for backend systems. </li><li>Track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. </li><li>Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology initiatives with strategic goals and drive innovation. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. </li><li>Proven experience in driving technical decision-making, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision and scalability. </li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). <br><br></li></ul>If you are a visionary technology leader with a passion for backend systems and a track record of driving innovation, we would love to hear from you.
