Job Description
Brunel International is looking for an experienced Chemical Works Inspector with a B.Sc in Chemistry and at least 15 years’ experience in modern steam power stations. The successful candidate will have in-depth technical capability and capacity to specify, analyse and comment about power station chemical laboratory, chemical analysis, controlling of all power station operation and interpretation of analytical results according to the required specification for power and desalination plants.<p><br></p><strong>Your Tasks</strong><p><br></p>Testing for power generation and water desalination to provide a wide-range of accredited power generation inspection capabilities for fast, reliable answers including:<p><br></p><strong>CHEMICAL ANALYSIS INSPECTION</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Analyzing metals, ores, ferro-alloys, ceramics and nonmetallic samples to determine if they meet detrimental material limits;</li><li>Positive Material Identification (PMI);</li><li>Spectroscopy (ICP-AES, ICP-MS, AES);</li><li>SEM/EDS;</li><li>Fouier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR);</li><li>Carbon / Sulfur / Nitrogen / Oxygen / Hydrogen Determination;</li><li>Wet Chemistry.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>CORROSION TESTING</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>ASTM A262 Practice A, B, C, D, E;</li><li>ASTM G28 Methods A & B;</li><li>ASTM G48 Methods A & B;</li><li>ASTM A923 Method C;</li><li>Salt Spray / Salt Fog;</li><li>Humidity Testing;</li><li>Passivation Testing;</li><li>Temperature Testing.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>METALLURGICAL ANALYSIS</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Microhardness (Knoop & Vickers)</li><li>Grain Size (ASTM E112)</li><li>Inclusion Rating (ASTM E45)</li><li>Plating Thickness</li><li>Carbide Precipitation</li><li>Ferrite by Point Count (ASTM E562)</li><li>Intergranular Attack / Oxidation</li><li>Alpha Case</li><li>Intergranular Corrosion (ASTM A262)</li><li>Sensitization</li><li>Surface Contamination;</li><li>Nodularity / Nodule Count;</li><li>Eutectic Melting;</li><li>Carburization / Decarburization.</li></ul><p><br></p><strong>Your Profile</strong><p><br></p><ul><li>Personnel Specification: B.
