Job Description

<p>The American University of Beirut (AUB) Faculty of Medicine (FM) is seeking a recognized academic and clinical leader for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology.</p><p><br></p><p>The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at AUB-FM is equipped with the latest and most advanced imaging equipment, providing a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiologic services for adults and children, including computerized tomography (CT), conventional radiography, digital mammography, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), on-site cyclotron, positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scans, scintigraphy, and ultrasound.</p><p><br></p><p>The Department is highly involved in offering academic, research, and educational activities. It offers residency training in Diagnostic Radiology (accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International – ACGME-I and the Arab Board of Health Specialties), in addition to fellowship trainings in Abdominal Imaging and in Nuclear Radiology.</p><p><br></p><p>The candidates for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology should be accomplished academic and clinical leaders, with a strong background in radiology and proficiency in advanced radiologic procedures and operational understanding of the state-of-the-art imaging technologies. They must possess a medical degree with further training in radiology or similar field, strong academic credentials for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor, in addition to leadership experience marked by a distinguished record in research, clinical practice, and education.
