Responsibilities:

1- Certifying:

  • To carry out and certify aircraft maintenance within the limits of their approval maintaining the standards of aircraft maintenance (and FSTDs, if applicable);
  • Responsible for overseeing the work on aircraft by the support staff, ensuring all work carried out by staff under their supervision complies with the Regulatory Requirements and Company Procedures in force at the time;
  • In addition to the maintenance aspects of the job, the Certifier will also have an administration function and is responsible for checking and ensuring that the aircraft documentation is complete and in accordance with continued airworthiness regulations and the company procedures;
  • Ensure that the staff working under their supervision obey to the Health and Safety regulations in force at the time of the work being carried out e.g. use of safety goggles, safety harnesses etc.
  • Orient, coach and motivate trainees;
  • Occasionally perform some of the functions of the Senior Engineer if absent and requested by the Part 145 Manager.

2- Executing:

  • Make repairs, troubleshoot problems, conduct inspections and make upgrades to aircraft (and FSTDs, if applicable). Daily duties may include keeping records of and performing scheduled maintenance, making emergency repairs, or preparing for internal/external audits/inspections;
  • Be actively involved in line and base maintenance activities at our base, as required in accordance with company procedures and under Part 145, and as delegated by the Certifiers and Part 145 Manager;
  • The engineer will actively be involved in both line and base maintenance and will have a pro-active and flexible approach and will at times be expected to work away from base;
  • Perform additional duties as may be assigned in the Engineering department;
  • Be flexible in working hours as determined by company policy.

Qualifications

  • Licensed EASA Aircraft Engineer B1.2 or B2. Oman CAA B1.2 or B2 license, or able to obtain.
  • Full Group 3 rating and no limitation on structural composite material aircraft.
  • At least 5 years of experience as Licensed Engineer in an approved Part 145 Organization, on general aviation aircraft.
  • At least 5 years of experience holding a certification authorization from an approved Part 145 Organization, on general aviation aircraft.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES

Proven work experience as a certifier, expertise in daily aircraft maintenance management procedures and best practices, proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives, strong knowledge of maintenance organization Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), hands on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) software and databases, leadership skills and ability manage staff, strong decision making and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills. High intermediate (or advanced) level of both written and spoken English language.
