Job Description
<p>The <strong>Certified Prosthetist & Orthotist – CPO </strong>assumes the role of operating the Prostheses (artificial limbs) and Orthoses (supportive devices) departments at HealTec by fabricating medical supportive devices and interpret patient measurements taken by physicians or physical therapists. These devices include artificial limbs (arms, hands, legs, and feet), braces, and other medical or surgical devices. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Apply knowledge evaluating Prostheses & Orthoses cases that arrive to HealTec through local & regional clinics.</li><li>Assist physicians at local clinics in the prescriptions for Prostheses or Orthoses when using HealTec products.</li><li>Assist physicians in taking proper measurements that would thereafter be reflected in the design of HealTec products.</li><li>Evaluate the effectiveness of appliance for patient’s needs; make necessary adjustments as instructed by physicians to ensure proper fit and function.</li><li>Maintain patient records and instruct physicians to offer patients with proper use of Prosthesis and Orthopedic devices.</li><li>Interpret measurements or impressions of patients taken by physicians or physiotherapists to ensure proper fitting of braces or artificial limbs on patients.</li><li>Design and fabricate orthopedic and prosthetic devices based on physician’s prescriptions.</li><li>Effective utilization of computer-based communication and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent degree.</li><li>Certification by the Saudi Board of Certification (SBC) in Orthotics and Prosthetics.</li><li>At least 2-3 years of additional clinical experience in a professional clinic after training is highly desirable.</li><li>Must be computer literate to quickly adapt to digital manufacturing & 3D printing technologies.</li></ul>
