Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and customer-oriented Minimart Cashier to join our team. As a cashier, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at the checkout counter. Your primary responsibility will be to process sales, handle payments, and assist customers with any inquiries they may have. Responsibilities:

Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly and positive shopping experience.

Scan and process items accurately and efficiently at the checkout counter.

Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with precision, ensuring the correct change is given.

Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including keeping the counter and surrounding space neat and tidy.

Answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, and general store information.

Assist customers in locating items throughout the minimart and suggest additional products or promotions when applicable.

Verify age-restricted items (such as alcohol and tobacco) according to company policies and regulations.

Collaborate with the store team to restock shelves and ensure sufficient inventory levels at the checkout area.

Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Promote loyalty programs, discounts, and special offers to encourage customer retention.

Follow minimart policies and procedures regarding safety and security measures.

Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with the store’s return policy.

Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and be aware of any ongoing promotions or sales events.

Requirements:

Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven work experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.

Attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.

Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Punctuality and reliability.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems is an advantage.
