<p>About the job</p><p><br></p><p><strong>POSTION: CASHIER / WAITER</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>POSITION PURPOSE:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Cashier/Waiter. work is to provide customers with fast and friendly service while ensuring accuracy at the sales counter. Cashiers generally take orders, ring them up on a register, collect payments and make change, and issue receipts. <strong>Cashiers are oftentimes asked to help with other tasks during their down time</strong>.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Collect cash, and credit card payments from customers</li><li>Make change accurately and efficiently</li><li>Issue receipts to customers</li><li>Deal with returns and refunds as necessary</li><li>Maintain cash control over register drawer and verify amounts are correct</li><li>Answer customer questions as they arise</li><li>Help with other tasks as needed.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>OTHER</strong>:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.</li><li> employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the organization.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:</li><li>Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.</li><li>Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.</li><li><strong>Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.</strong></li><li>Ability to walk, stand, and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period of time.</li><li>Auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.</li><li>Experience operating a cash register.</li><li>Proficient cashier and clerical skills.</li><li>Comfortable with cash handling.</li></ul>
